Which do you prefer?

I use an Arca plate on my gimbal head when using longer lenses like the 150-600 as well as when I'm in the studio with an L bracket on the camera.

However, I prefer the RC2 when I'm out in the cold or am using shorter lenses. The reason I prefer the 'click in' of the RC2 is mainly due to my arthritis - tightening an AP isn't so easy when your hands won't cooperate as they should.

Which is why so many people prefer the RRS Arca lever release clamps, no tightening, no adjustment, just an easy to use lever that locks firmly with confidence.

My only complaint would be RRS pricing but it is a better product and should last a lifetime, there are certainly worse ways to squander money.

The RRS Lever lock system is great. I've got a clamp on a set of Gitzo legs and a plate on the base of an RRS BH-55 and also a Wimberley Gimbal, can swap between the 2 in a couple of seconds and no risk of cross-threading the stud.

I use a variety of tripod heads with a variety of gear... small ball heads, large geared heads, gimbal heads, tilt heads, etc.; with everything from small point & shoot (fuji x-20) up to Nikon D5 and 400/2.8. All of it is Arca Swiss compatible.
