Hi Guys - I have been asked to undertake a small survey by my partner and have been told to ask the question "whats the interest in photography"

This might sound a bit random and it probably is but we just wanted to know what peoples view's were about photography and what makes people so passionate about it.

I dont want to offend anyone just curious to know what you all think!

There may be a slight delay of a couple of days whilst people write up their answers to this!

I think it is such a huge area because it is an art form that practically anyone can do...my dad hasn't an artistic bone in his body but can still take a good photo! It is a relatively cheap way to express ones self, and can bring you a lot closer to whatever it is you are photographing. Myself, for example, have learnt (and wanted to!) a lot more about wildlife than I would have had I not been photographing it.
