Your Claims to fame?

There are some brilliant moments in history in this thread.

I did some driving segments on Top Gear. The first in a TVR Griffith for a TVR special called Blackpool Rock and the second in a Lancia Stratos for a Jeremy Clarkson video.

I'm a current holder of a Guinness World Record, alas one I have to share with 963 other people.

Ferraris?

How on earth do you 'jam on a turntable'?!!

Steve.
Scratching, with sound...surprising what you can do. Especially when using musical sounds along with a full live band. Check Birdy Nam Nam as a full group replicating all parts a band. Think maybe the organ or other lead being done over live bass, drums and MC.

Beer in cape town with Morgan Freeman when we were on honeymoon .

You went on honeymoon with morgan freeman ? - How did sharon feel about that ?

I shared several beers and a good chat with John Coughlan, the original status quo drummer at a military vehicle show. He also invited me to his birthday party at his house later that year, where "some old band mates" we're going to turn up for a jam.. Sadly I couldnt make it.

I also walked past John Snow in Hay on Wye once.

That's a whole other thread right there!

I once walked past Terry Nutkins in Morrisons in Fort William.

I walked past Dominic Cork in a Morrisons.

Walked past Peter Ndluv in a Sainsburys.

Walked past Kay Alexander in the centre of Birmingham.

Sat opposite Bernard Ingham on a tube train.

Met Buster Bloodvessel at a party and John Cooper Clarke at another.

But I thought this thread was supposed to be about your own moments of fame.

Supermarkets? Mickey Dolenz [dressed in a khaki Safari Suit] once tried to take my trolley in Safeways in Streatham and then apologised profusely when I took it back.

Steve.

I used to to play The Jam on my turntable. Still think Tube Station at Midnight is one of the best set of lyrics in the history of lyrics !

Screening Lord Such - Joe Meek (RGM Records) Absolute tragedy!

Met Roald Dahl several times in my teens and got him to sign a book for my younger sister - he was a lovely bloke!

Met Leo Sayer and Lewis Collins in Tesco's.

Met David Boreanaz (and family) and Emily Deschanel when they were filming in Oxford, my older son had his photo taken with Emily.

Am personal friends with the Rockabilly band 'The Jets'

Have met Dougray Scott, Vanessa Redgrave, Robson Green and Anna Friel through my older son's work as child extra.

Excellent!

I saw Geoff Boycott playing cricket once.:)

I walked past Jack Nicholson in Jermyn Street London - and he looked quite menacing.:exit:

I stood behind Bob Geldof in a bank - but I wasn't compelled to do anything improper:naughty:

I have Geoff Hurst's and Henry Coopers autographs - somewhere:rolleyes:

I also finished in the top ten (120 rider field) in the last race won by Sean Yates, before he turned professional for Peugeot in the early eighties, and my partner and I beat Peter Knowles (who would be later ranked number five in the World) and his partner in a mixed doubles badminton tournament - when he was 14;) To be fair he was a bit like a junior McEnroe then, but without the ability to recover from his meltdowns.

That's nothing. He spoke to us in a Canterbury bookshop once. We tried to give him a copy of our album (on cassette) and he told us to f**k off!

Steve.

Strange that, you must have caught him on a bad day, he was such a mild mannered gentleman:LOL:

My only other claims to fame are for sound engineering the following artists/bands at live shows:

Acker Bilk, Kenny Ball, Mud, The Glitter Band, Patti Smith, Showaddywaddy, Hayseed Dixie, Dr Feelgood, Captain Sensible, Boy George, Rick Wakeman - and the highlight of my career... Chas and Dave!

Oh, remembered another corker....

Adam Henderson smiled at me as I admired his sheep at the 3 counties show.

Just thought of another one. I played guitar for Graham Fenton of Matchbox earlier this year.

Steve.

Another one for Geldoff here...Tesco in Faversham.
David Badiel in Sittingbourne sainsbuy.
Kelly Brook and Jason Statham in the Who'd a Thought It hotel in Grafty Green.

Was on blue peter years ago! Interviewed and all! Got the old school badge somewhere still to.

I crossed the line whilst chatting to Janet Ellis once. She slapped me and walked off.

ive shagged one of the nolans..........now that is another thread

Shame it was Christopher Nolan - the film Director! ;)

I kicked European Tour Pro Ian Poulter's arse round a golf course once! (This was when a European Tour pro, not when he was 6 or anything!)
