Your 2012 Holiday plans

Don't laugh! ...... I really want to see Benidorm.... I really do :D

Don't laugh! ...... I really want to see Benidorm.... I really do :D

I live 46km from Benidorm, and the fact that I never go there says it all really. A disgusting concrete jungle full of drunk, red-skinned, rude British people really is my idea of hell. Why would you leave the UK to surround yourself with British pubs, chip shops and strip clubs? Spain has so many great places to visit, Benidorm is not one of them. :gag::shrug:

our hols always have to be really cheap, on a shoestring, so usually we go where Ryan Air go

but we have to save up for my daughter's vegas wedding in 2013 so might just stay in the uk this year, maybe camping in Dartmoor at Easter.

if we can get it cheap enough we might go to Croatia

Our spanish base is just outide Denia. Up in the mountains - really peaceful. Only reason we ever go to Benidorm is for the water park

However, for our holidays this year we are going to St Anton Skiing, then hopefully the maldives in the summer for some diving with the kids.

I'd agree the only reason I'd return to Benidorm would be to go to one of the theme parks.
Love skiing, so I'm very envious. It's been far too long since I went. I spent some time on Meeru in the Maldives a few years back. What a great place to relax!

malta is my big one
Liverpool
and scotland to see some panda's :D

So far we are off to Edinburgh in a few weeks thanks to the wife winning 1st prize at work (something to do with commitment to the job) also off somewhere in may for a week for some sun after that is unknown.

kristien when you go, go on the Hairy coo highland tour its free you just give a donation at the end, we loved it Donald is really funny and knowledgeable, Hairy Coo Website you need to book it, as places go very quickly although since we last went they have now bought another bus, so they have 2 now and they do a few other free tours

I went with them in March this year, had some fantastic aurora displays. Very very cold though, take your thermals.

Hi Marie,
Yeah, shame we're not on the same week. Brrr... the cold is the only bit I'm really not looking forward to but I've heard that it has to be cold for the best aurora displays so needs must ;)

.

We've got friends live in Sanet. We're speaking of organising a trip over at the moment, just not 100% sure when :)

Off to Abisko, northern Sweden 20th Jan for the northern lights, then 10th of May fly out to Dallas for my annual 3 weeks storm chasing and a weeks driving around the midwest :D

We'll be taking a week in Mallorca as we do every year but we'll be flying there, not driving as we did in 2011. It was a fantastic adventure but it proved to be fairly expensive. And I hope to fit in a week or ten days pottering around the Benelux countries.

I think we'll be selling our one week timeshare in Las Vegas this year. I'm determined that my son isn't going to con me into giving it to him again :bang:

Anyone here with experience of selling timeshare weeks?

Have only just started to think about trips this year but so far, the last week of May around the Bempton Cliffs area with the caravan. Still to get some dates with my dearest friend for a girls trip to New York.

Di

I'm terrible at actually going on holiday considering I work for an airline and get concessions and really cheap deals.

This year we are going away just not sure where yet. The mrs just doesn't understand that when you work at an airport on the aircraft everyday the last thing I want to do is take time off and go to another airport.

Over the years I have been really lucky with traveling for work so I'm really not too fussed but got to keep her in doors sweet, best I get booked up soon eh :)

malta is my big one

Me and my g/f are off to Sliemma in March too. It's my first time in Malta, her second.

Then we're off somewhere in the Uk in the summer with my kids, then to Orlando in October to see the g/f's brother and his family.:)

In august me and the wife will be riding down to the west coast of Italy hoping to reach Rome, Ducati factory on the way back up, then over the swiss alps and up into Germany, round the Ring a few times then home through Paris.

Not a bad little stint

Just booked the two weeks in China I had promised myself (and the wife)
Beijing for the Great Wall, Tianamen Square and the Forbidden City.
Xian for the Terrecotta Warriors
Three days cruising the Yangtze including the Three Gorges Dam.
Next stop Shanghai
Final stop Hong Kong.

Shall I take the camera??

Christ yes! Have been to Beijing, before I bought my camera unfortunately. :( You'll love it.

Edit: also go to the summer palace!(?)

Being skint and having 5 dogs the uk is the only option, we are off to pembrokeshire at February half term and then Skye in October can't wait for both of them

Bit of a reverse for me. Spent the last 1 ½ years in Nam and our plan is to return to the UK in July. Vietnam is a fantastic country but we’re strangely looking forward to coming back. My son and I really miss UK food :cuckoo: When we get back we will be off to France for a week or two to see the wife’s family so feel really lucky to be honest. :)

Copenhagen for a weekend in March - friend's birthday and she's turned into gathering of various people.

Centre Parks in Suffolk in July for a week with extended family, my parents wanted a family holiday with their grandchildren so we're all going (no grandchildren from me, but I get included too).

Off to Orlando in June. First ever trip across the pond. :)
The missus has been doing research on everything for the last few weeks, bought tickets to some of the theme parks etc. I'm almost expecting an itinerary when i land!
Will of course be taking my cam, though want to ensure i take the right bits, and not take too much.
Plan will be 10 - 20 maybe, 17 - 85 and 70 - 200. Aparrently there is a theme park / safari all in one?! can't wait!

I'm off down to St.Ives in Cornwall with the family. Its a place I love and more than happy to go on holiday! :)

Think that will be a destination of ours too! Love it there, and so many great places nearby.
