I'm sure you're all like me and have a list as long as your arm of the camera gear you'd like to buy in the future so thought we could have a thread to share our dreams...i'll start:

Want to buy:
  • SB-900
  • 50mm f/1.4 prime (undecided which brand)
  • Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VRI or VRII

Dream of buying:
  • D3
  • 200-400mm VR
  • 16mm fisheye
  • Nikon 24mm PC-E
  • Nikon 85mm PC-E

Let's see what I can actually afford!
 
Just negotiated a 50D so that's probably going to be my only main purchase for the year! After that every penny is going to saving up for a 100-400 L, but that won't be till the end of the year by the looks of it!

Edit: Oooh, but if we're having a dream list, a 100-400, 70-200 f/2.8, 300mm f/2.8, 400mm f/2.8, basically anything with a big number before the 'mm' and a small number after the 'f/'!

maybe a tokina 11-16, f2.8 is where it's at... and I'm kinda liking the look of the sigma 30mm 1.4 and nikon 85 1.8, my 50 1.4's making me easy money ;) ...

if you're buying, 2* D3s's, 14-24, 24-70, 70-200, 300mm 2.8, carrier bag full of sb900's and another one full of pocket wizards would go down a treat :P

edit: and one of those magic wiper things for cleaning vinyl. probably before anything else. :)
 
If I get into it as much as I hope to:

Canon 5D mark II
Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L
Replace 450d with a better body for use as a back-up/second (possibly a 7D)

If I don't get into it as much as I hope then it'll be an either/or between the 5D mark II and the 24-70mm.
 
100-400 for me by the end of this year will do me :thumbs:
 
Possibly a Sigma 10-20mm

Maybe a Sony 16-105mm

That's about it really. I want a good walkaround with a widish angle and a super wide angle :p
 
Better photos with the gear I have. Can't buy them, but, hey.
 
At the moment im hoping for a nikon 35mm and the sigma 17-70 with IS.
Not going to cost too much but would still dent my student loan
:(

A pair of MKIV's & 85MM F/1.8

as a Brucey Bonus i'd :love: a 200MM F/2.O :nuts:
 
A 10-22 or similar and an extra body. If somehow funds admit as in the post above a Sigma 70-200 f2.8.
 
Well I've just started my shopping for the year by ordering a used Sigma 120-300 from a member in the classifieds. Not much else on the list for this year, realistic things would be an extension tube or two and another camera bag. In my dreams I'd like to get a full frame body, either a 5D mkII or a 1Ds mkII but doubt that will be happening unless business picks up a fair bit.
 
A Nikon 24-70 or 28-70 2.8 is first on the list.

Apparently I'm going to India in November too so I may have a look for an off brand telephoto to get some nice wildlife shots.
 
1) cheap and reliable car

2) Some kind of full frame, ideally 1Ds mk2 or 5D2, but realistically it may be a cheapo 5D classic. I really want 1Ds though. This may mean 17-40mm f/4L.

3) Canon 50mm f/1.4 II USM, if it ever gets released.

3) Then I may want 70-200mm f/2.8, either one; I have more than enough similar teles to get rid of.

Upgrade the 5D to a 5DII and a new video light that works properly.

Get the 1Ds serviced.

Shoot as much as I can and expand the range of what I'm doing.

Hopefully improve!

Looking at another flash and possible a hilite background.

Then maybe upgrade my Tamron 28-75 to a 24-70 or 24-105, but not convinced as my Tamron is a great lens.

If anything after that the 7D looks appealing.

I will buy some more modifiers for the flash, and speedlites

I want to buy a D3 or D300 (but this is deinately gonna be a pipe dream!)

To complete my kit bag I'd like an ultra wide angle and a macro lens. At the moment I'm thinking of the Tokina 11-16mm and Nikon 105mm but I haven't decided yet.

I'd also love a Nikon 24-70mm but I don't think that will be on the 2011 shopping list.

Canon 50D, brand spanking new, arrived this morning. Intended as an upgrade for my 30D, but I might keep the 30D for dog walking.
Canon battery grip for my 5D mk II + another spare genuine battery.
Wireless Flash triggers + remote controls.
Lowepro Stealth Reporter D400AW

Later this year, maybe another lens with more reach,
a couple of Speedlite 580 EXIIs,
Rode Stereo Video Mic
GPS logger.
