Yes
I have a few loves in life, the top 3, although not necessarily in this order ;) Photography, the girlfriend and Liverpool Football Club. I'll let you work out in which order !!

In a little under 19 hours, Liverpool are aiming to win their 6th European Cup against AC Milan in Athens.... and I have never ever been this nervous.

Liverpool won it 2 years ago in Istanbul with little expectation on their shoulders, this time there is a fair bit more.

For those of you who don't know anything about football; Liverpools anthem is famous worldwide, hence my title.... Quite emotive ...

''....When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high, and don't be afraid of the dark, at the end of the storm, there's a golden sky and the sweet silver song of a lark....
Walk on, though the wind, walk on through the rain, though your dreams be tossed and blown, walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart and you'll never walk alone, you'll NEVER walk alone.....
''

Means allot to me and to many thousands of others. Not just from a football perspective either.

So, I won't be around on TP tomorrow night as I will be in my lucky pub, drinking my lucky beer, wearing my lucky hat and waving my lucky scarf...

Cheers,
Neil

YNWA :)

And I hope all the lucky traditions work. :D

I've just fought my way through Liverpool airport and the huge number of fans heading to Greece. There will be 1 or 2 of us there. ;)

I'll try to replicate what I did last time.

Every little bit helps, and it can't do any harm.

May the best team win, and fingers crossed it's Liverpool. :D

Hope its a better match than the 3rd v 4th place play off at the weekend
BTW my son is a big LFC fan as his godfather is a scout for the club
Come on the Reds!
Paul ;)

Not a fan of scarves but I'll no doubt be waving my lucky beer :)

Liverpool all the way!

Looking froward to it, hopefully will get to watch it all at home this evening.

Good Luck LIVERPOOL.

Forza Milano!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I prefer the Everton version of "Walk on......", though the lyrics are not suitable for posting here :nono:

Some people are disgusted that I won't be supporting Liverpoo today seeing as I'm English and I should support all English teams when they play. Bullocks, I'm an Evertonian first and never ever want Liverpoo to win anything, except relegation. I do hope that Milan can stuff it to those "lovable Reds" today, especially the 50 who fought over 1 ticket last night in Athens!!!! Best fans in the world? Never!

So I gather you don't like Liverpool FC then
Paul ;)

I don't want to turn this into an Everton Liverpool thing, Your decision is your decision.
This is about Liverpool tonight in the final of the European Cup, going for a 6th title.... and me wanting to leave work now to go home and start my alcoholoc preparation ....

Tsk Tsk Mindcrime, we are all Merseysiders, Red or Blue..I ant disgusted in your supporting Milan, just amazed that football can make people so fickle so as to wish misfortune on their fellow merseysiders...Ooh Ooh..sour those grapes:lol:

Ok Ok, I'll take the bait. Why should I, as a lifelong Evertonian, wish that Liverpoo win the cup tonight? Because I'm from the area? Rubbish, absolute rubbish. Do you for one moment think any Kopite wishes Everton all the best in Europe next season? NO, they'll be hoping we get whalloped 10-0 and go out in the first round. Or they weren't rejoicing and organising parties for when we were nearly relegated in the late 90's. Don't be pulled in by the press and that we should all root for Liverpoo. Oh, and I'm from the Wirral, not Merseyside ;)

Everton fans eh! "Just like the Murphy's", Not. ;)

I quite understand fans of any other club feeling the same way about Liverpool in the final, if Chel$ki or United had been in the final against each other, or against Milan, I don't think I'd want either of the English teams to win. :nono:

I wanted Arsenal to win last year though, so maybe I just don't like Chel$ki or United.

The nerves for tonight are starting to kick in. It could be 6+ hours before it is all over, one way or the other, and I've already ran out of finger nails to bite.

Wirral is Merseyside, or at least it was when I last checked.. My brother was assistant stadium manager at Goodison Park until he left for the JJB stadium in Wigan...you couldn't meet a Bigger Red but he loves Everton Dearly and also supports Tranmere, as do I.

I suppose its about loving the game and feeling that you belong to an area and rejoice in its successes, rather than regarding every other team with contempt, because its not your own.

Well good luck to whoever wins.
If I'm completely honest, I'm not a big football fan. The wife is a big Man City fan though (and feels the same towards United as mindcrime does towards Liverpool). Football does indeed bring out the dedication in people.

Whoever wins, good luck and may it be a good match.

I can`t wait, it`s got to be a better game than the FA Cup.

Mind you, it couldn`t be any worse!! Got to pop out to the offy first though.

I'll be rooting for the 'Rossoneri' although I'll have a bet on Liverpool winning 2-1 in 90 minutes.

I suppose its about loving the game and feeling that you belong to an area and rejoice in its successes, rather than regarding every other team with contempt, because its not your own.

But shouldn't you rejoice in your own team's success instead of your local rivals? Isn't that what sport is all about? I guess it's a sign of the times where it's the taking part and not the winning that's more important, hence the sports day's in schools has now become a farce where there aren't any winners.

I guess I can't understand the "new sports fan" who can follow/support/be a fan of more than one team and wish their rivals good will

When a successful team brings jobs, trade and prestige to your area, then its nice to see,Whatever thier colours and if it is your favourite team then all the better, but all local teams should be supported (in my opinion) over foriegn teams..but hey, I understand totally, we are all different.

I always support the opposition when the England national team plays; I'm just not that patriotic towards the England national team, they bore me with their football. So, I always support 'Johnny Foreigner".

Time to settle down for the pre-game show and grab a few beers.

Tonight matthew...........

I'll be banning anybody who cheers for milan

:)

this is soooo boring.

I'm sure I heard a rendition of "does the dole know you're here..."

:nono: :'( :'(

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Come on liverpool

off his shoulder too :(

and made worse by him not knowing what he was doing!

He was more surprised at being hit by the ball than I was when I found out tony blair was a lying &*(^

Hate to say it but that was not three minutes of extra time :(

Like it matters, it wouldn't of made a difference

Good result, come on Milan :D

I wonder when the appeal will be lodged as the ref didn't play enough time added on

At last, Big Red are humbled. There is a God after all.

I wouldn't say they were humbled, all the players interviewed after the final whistle were very gracious in defeat and showed a sense of sportsmanship.

The freak goal unsettled them too close to the end of the half and they came out again a different team imho, they didn't show the same spark until the last 10 minutes :(

It's never a better time than the present so:

What goes beep, beep, beep? ..............................................

Liverpool's open top bus reversing back into the garage!

I have to say it makes a refreshing change not to say "We didn`t win because of this reason or that reason" unlike Chelsea and their ilk. Gracious in defeat.

Come on, that joke was funny the first time I heard it, but it's a bit long in the tooth now.
BTW, the first time I heard it was the 86 cup final.........remember it ?
