You think the police here are bad?

Got to laugh? Not if you're old enough to remember the retribution dished out by the Chinese authorities after the Tiananmen Square protests. I just wish Western governments would have the balls to block all trade with nations such as China until they sort their human rights record out.

LOL That's you told Mr Lemon :p

I think whoever thought up the 'disruptive brollies idea' must be on crack....most bizarre way of censoring something I've ever seen :p

I heartily agree NN, but it's a complex issue. It'll never happen. There are just too many political and economical ramifications of a trade embargo. We are just too reliant on the cheap import of goods and components from China.

I suppose it looks better for them than just shooting/torturing etc any journo they find.

(You can only get away with that when you're sure there are no witnesses)

Yes, I clearly meant laugh at the event, or the memory of it . Sorry but I do find it funny that this is their pathetic attempt to prevent media coverage. They just don't seem to know how to deal with things like this, websites they can block, outside news they can stop broadcasting etc, but when it is simple two men with a camera and mic they just don't seem to know ho to deal with it. Just hope it doesn't get out of hand :(

It is one of the craziest types of censorship I have ever seen tbh, they are also blocking websites and TV channels too.

Its just wrong!

Surely it doesn't need the government. People vote with the credit card by buying products that are clearly marked as "made in China".
If there was enough revulsion, people would stop buying their goods and shops would stop stocking them.

Unfortunately it does need the government. The nature of capitialism is that manufacturers will look to drive down costs as much as possible and so source from cheap countries such as China. People can only buy what's available and they have no choice in where goods are made.

Not ever going to happen. The general public either don't care enough or know enough about the situation to boycott Chinese made products.

I'd be careful. Those umbrellas might have ricin in it.

They're quite nimble on their feet those Chinese policemen - I wonder who does the choreography for them?
