Great camera for the money.

Try the cropped video mode that uses a 7x multiplier @ 640x480. It is the only canon DSLR that can do that and a reason I use the 550D and not the 1DIV for video recording most times.

My Tamron 90mm Macro lens gives me a 630mm equivalent view in that mode and I can record wildlife videos without lugging a heavy lens around and with very good sharpness.

Ok.. ive had a little play (off out on the razzle dazzle so put it away for now)

here is my first picture of my cat... size as taken, on auto and no PP so not the best shot. but blown away by the resolution.

The camera is so nice, the screen is gorgeous and I just love it, cant wait to take it out with my 24-70 L lens :)
 
I have a 450D at the moment but I'm hoping to upgrade to a 550D soon. I can't wait to get my hands on the new metering system.
