Was watching a Dave Gilmour concert DVD tonight and then played the accompanying disc of backstage and tour clippings etc. from it I learned something new tonight.
I would never have known what the Latin word for scabbard was had I not played that DVD

What is it then you may ask? ...........look it up yourself :D

Yeah right maybe in the yuppie schools-no comprehensive have ever known teaches latin and who would want to learn latin.

Oi!!! I hope not, I was educated at Gordonstoun but missed the relevant Latin Lessons due to illness.
 
The only translation I can find is scaber which means absolutely nothing to me.

He he brings back memories

We had a pretty stern latin teacher ( a Miss or is it Mis? ) and she would go nuts at us every time we sniggered at the vag...... word even although the V is pronounced w it was still hilarious, well to 12 and 13 year olds anyway :D
