I was photographing a schools athletics day on Thursday.. sent by the local paper. I was shooting the high jump when there was a lapse so i turned towards the running track just as a race was ending and got the shot below.. Subsequent shots used of the girl on the floor and ambulance and other shots in other parts and editions of paper where all taken from distance with the 135mm i was using.. At the time I and everyone else thought just a fall and a bad injury but the story is bigger..

Its rare I get a front page.. Had a couple in the weekly paper but this is only my second in a regional (me being sports).. As I was on a job then it was a set fee. however the story and pics ahve been syndicated and I will make more money if others pick it up..

the girl and family are all happy for pics used and the girls is OK

As mentioned above.. I was sent by paper so paid a fee.. If I was sending in on spec then yes would be more... If anyone else pics it up the papers will pay me a percentage :)
 
Did you take the photo of the black leather sofa too?
