Yep it happen again, not for a long while those :D.

We have had a festival in town with lots of street acts going on all over the city, being covering a few today no problems, till on the way home saw one last act started taking photos, young women one of the festival helper came over, and asked me if i knew the act who was playing,i said no "well then you cant take photos then"," Yes i can its in a public space i have been taking photos of different events all over the city today with no problems, plus lots of other people taking photos".
OK then she said just be careful ?,so when i finish taking my photos i ask her what she meant by be careful, well she said they could end up all over the place .

Also i noticed i one event they had their own photographer, just taking photos of the people watching, then just going up and telling them she was the events photographers, where are those photos going ?

Reminds me of a few years back when one of the Scandiwegian rally drivers wiped a front wheel off his car and was about to drive (on the road) to the service area to get it fixed. A copper stopped him and told him he couldn't drive the car like that, to which the driver replied that he could - in fact he just had at reduced speed to finish the stage. The copper kept on telling him he couldn't (getting almost irate) and the driver (keeping cool and with an amused smile) kept telling the copper he could. Eventually the driver said that he believed that the copper was meaning that he MAY not drive the car on the road even tough he COULD. Semantics maybe but an important difference!

Some good links there. I keep a copy of the ACPO Police guidelines in my bag. I was only reading the other day about the police who made an 80 year old man delete his images in a shopping centre in Derby. He wasn't in a public place granted, but the police had no legal authority to demand that he deleted his images.
