Yes
I just tried to pay for an item using my usual mac browser Safari 3.0 and a pop up told me that i can no longer use this browser. I need to download either firefox or internet explorer. Has anyone else had this problem?

Yeah thats the version im' running. Its only happened today so im presuming ebay have just recently decided to block the safari browser when trying to pay. It lets you get so far into paying for the item but then the pop appears and it wont let you go any further.

Yeah i mean i googled it and it seems ebay have never been very mac / safari friendly and this has just put the nail in the coffin for me im' afraid.

Are you sure it didn't just say to turn on cookies? eBay didn't like Chrome at first but after a few refreshes it sorted itself out.

To ensure you get the best Web browsing results on eBay:

Use eBay's recommended Web browsers. eBay supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or higher, or Apple Safari.2 or higher. These browsers are widely used, and their manufacturers provide continual security updates. MSNTV2 is supported by eBay with exceptions due to limitations of that platform. Netscape Navigator is no longer supported by eBay. eBay is currently not supporting advanced functionality on the Opera browser.

Be sure JavaScript is enabled while using eBay. This allows interactive features to work properly. For more information on enabling JavaScript, see your browser’s Help.

Be sure cookies are enabled. “Cookies” are small files that eBay and other Web sites store on your computer, allowing those sites to “remember” your preferences and require you to enter your password less frequently. They also allow you to use certain features in My eBay, including leaving Feedback.

If you use a pop-up blocker, you may want to temporarily allow pop-ups while on eBay. This ensures all information is displayed and all eBay interactive features, such as eBay’s Live Help, are working properly.

That's what egay say. But it wouldn't surprise me that they have changed their policy without updating this.
