Hiya Rik, I'm in Barnsley, and I take photographs anywhere and everywhere....my advice is just get out there with your camera and take pictures. Of anything and everything, thats what I personally do :)

Harewood House
Malham Cove
Skipton
Bolton Abbey
Fountains Abbey
York

The list is endless in Yorkshire mate..

I often just nip over the border into Derbyshire for some lovely views.

Also enjoy visiting York & Lincoln with my camera.

Yes I think were known as 'dee' 'dars' in Barnsley ;)

 I wouldn't be rude to a Barnsley lass.....I used to live with one and boy could she punch :boxer: :D

Well they are erecting a bloody great ferris wheel on centenary square, in front of the town hall in Bradford at the mo. Don't know why. But it looks to be either level with or just above the twon hall roof in height.
Might just nip down for a night shot or two.

are they? that could be interesting, look forward to seeing your shots then

I remember when I lived in Leeds, we used to take a drive out and found a really pretty little village called Micklethwaite. I think it won a couple of awards for prettiest village. But that was 10 years ago! It's near Bingley

Also, Kirkstall Abbey near Headingley is great at dawn, used to get some great photos of that.
