I am looking to buy the above flash to go with my Pentax K-R and my Sigma EF-610 DG ST. I am also looking to buy a set of flash triggers and a transmitter so I can use them off camera. Can anyone advise me as to which triggers will work with the above set up. Thanks in advance.

The yongnuo 602 or 603 triggers will trigger it IIRC.

If the Sigma has manual power control, you'll be good to go.

As long as you don't mind

a. non ttl guns and
b. no remote control of flash

then that will work fine. It's how a lot of people learnt their chops.

YN56iii are single pin (no TTL) guns with built in receivers for 602/603 transmitters. So you wont need to buy a receiver for the YN, only the Sigma.

This. No receivers need for the 560iii's. Yongnuo don't make Pentax specific either and I used Nikon 602's with my Pentax but had to mount the transmitter backwards to stop it misfiring :/

That is a pity. Those 433 triggers are not a patch even on the YN 603.

If you also bought the 560 III, then you needn't have spend the extra and gone with the 560 II without the built in 602/3 receiver.

I have two of these flashguns. the YN560 II and the YN560 III. Seeing as these are manual only flashguns, I didnt feel the need to pay the extra for TTL control radio triggers. I just use a single set of Phottix Strato II triggers. (Transmitter on camera and receiver on the main light). I then use the second flash in slave mode to be triggered by the first. Sometimes I do wish I could use TTL, but I feel my lighting has become a lot more creative thanks to being forced to do it manually.

Whist you're perfectly right, no-one has mentioned any ETTL triggers in this thread.

I think with these flashguns it would be pointless using ETTL triggers with these flashguns as they only work in manual. Although correct me if i'm wrong, I'm relatively new to the lighting side of things.

602/3 triggers are manual triggers only.

They come with the full complement of Canon/Nikon ttl pin contacts in their hotshoes for things like wake up from sleep, not for ttl purposes.

Firing via slave is only applicable if you can control the environment - make sure nobody else fires their flashes to trigger yours. Better just to use the more reliable radio for all remotes and never have to think about it.

Yep. That's why no-one suggested them. ;)
