yongnuo 568 EX11 flash question

Just wondering if anybody can help me with a problem i am encountering with a new YN 568 EX 11 flash gun. if i place the flash on camera all the functions work OK, M ETTL etc but when i remove the flash and place a 622 trigger on the camera and one on the flash and set the flash to manual mode when i press the shutter button the flash defaults to ETTL mode, Has anybody else come across this problem and knows how to fix it please. all i want to do is experiment with the HSS.

For the camera / triggers to control; the flash, the flash needs to be in ettl mode. I'm not sure how it works with the 622's, try the 'other' manual.

It appears to be the same as with my PW flex's you will control the power from the camera menu.
