I've had 4 packages to be delivered to me this month by Yodel.

2 of them were despatched and delivered (left in my bin cupboard) early in the month.

The other two were despatched last week and Yodel do not seem to know where they are. It says on their site, they tried to deliver and left a card (they didn't). It also says they were delivered to my next door neighbour (who died 6 months ago) and after that it says they were returned to the depot! I keep getting different stories from Customer Services. A manager was supposed to call me last night but it didn't happen. I just called again and they said they would get the Croydon depot to call me straight back but again, still no call.

I'm getting to the end of my tether with them now.

Don't suppose anyone knows the Croydon depot phone number please? I've google'd but to no avail! :(

Rant over.

i personally have never had a problem with them, the best out of the lot are parcelforce the worst for me is dhl

DHL(UK Domestic) and Yodel are now the same company......

true, i think it depends on the driver you get, the good the bad and the ugly.

its like tesco own one-stop

I'm not going to go in to to much detail here, but I support some of their IT and in my opinion this company is bodged, taking on to much work, and not throwing enough money in the right places.
Xmas was a nightmare to say the least.

Potentially been nicked, last time I got fobbed around by yodel as much as you have it turns out the delivery driver had "accidently" taken my parcels home for a few days :shake:

When they did turn up, the driver, I remember, looked very sheepish and the boxes had obviously been opened and resealed. Luckily everything was there.

More importantly, since that incident and after all of my complaints, amazon no longer send anything out to me via yodel, which I can only see as a good thing.

Apparantly this is the address for the Croydon depot;

12 London South Unit 1
Beddington Farm Road
Off Purley Way
Croydon
Surrey
CR0 4XB

And the phone number - 0208 243 3606

If it's a company you've ordered from, contact them and ask them to send them again, via a different courrier.

They are obliged to use reliable courriers.

i've had a mare with Yodel recently

they're even worse to contact via the phone

If you have a garden fence nearby have a look over it - doesn't matter how high. Even an 8' fence wasn't too high for a Yodel driver to 'deliver' a package of books. And to add to the efficiency of this service he didn't even need to take a moment to write a card explaining where the package could be found - outside, now split open and unprotected, and this at the beginning of December. By the time it was found, several rainy days later, it was, well you can imagine!

Almost a reason not to use Amazon!

Thank you for the number but that is the number for DPD who Yodel sometimes use to help them deliver. However, I did get the right number off the nice gent I spoke with there which is 02085444207 and spoke to another decent lad who gave me the actual drivers number but he was less than helpful but hopefully he will have it delivered to night as discussed because I now have his number! :) I will update you all in due course and thank you for all your help!

So far they have been ok for me. Bet it's all going to go down hill now I have said that.

They were with me on the previous two packages so I don't know why they've let the service fail in a week! Ah well, on my way home, time to see if he's kept to his promise! If not, I have his mobile number! Lol

Call him at midnight if the parcel doesnt turn up asking him where it is.

Id say that is fair, you would of given him until the end of the day

He ended up leaving them both with a neighbour of mine so happier ending! :)

We have to endure yodel delivering to the stores on site, and all but one of them flouts the rules, gives us (security) abuse and is generally nothing but a nuisance.
Tallying it up, we've banned half of the drivers theu send this way from site, one of them for using his van as a ram to push the guard out of the way, ended up running over his foot.

In short, if you have any choice, avoid them like you would a zombie

When I think of yodel several words spring to mind .. "trading standards" and "watchdog" ...

As someone pointed out, it depends on the delivery driver. I have had two come to my house in private cars. One has chucked stuff over my tall gates and it broke open and spilled on the floor, they have also left stuff several doors down with people I don't know. The woman who came recently was lovely. She is very polite and does it for spare cash. These people come in private cars. Hers was amazing..it was something like a little Punto and I swear you could not have got a sugar cube size extra parcel in there. It was completely full and she could see b****r all out of the windows etc.

There are loads of threads on various websites about Yodel. Particularly long running one on HUKD.

Only had 3 items from them so far.
Two were 1 day late and the other was a week late.

A pity that all suppliers did not give a choice of carrier when goods are ordered.

I've only ever had one delivery that I know was via Yodel. It was a pretty nondescript van without any kind of writing or logo on it. The driver was pleasant enough and delivery was on time.

I do suspect they do a lot of sub-contacting to private drivers, if that is the case then it's pot luck as to whether you get a gem or an absolute a**se. All in the name of efficiency and cost of course...

I'd take my chances with Yodel over City-Link every day of the week.

This really ****es me off, I pay thousands of pounds a year for courier insurance that covers me for hire and reward but companies like this "employ" an army of single mums working for peanuts in their own cars, if they're collecting parcels, delivering them by car and getting paid for it that's hire and reward.

They must be driving without valid insurance as well as cocking all the deliveries up not to mention overloading the car

I've also had bad service from Yodel. Once they seeming threw a book i'd ordered over my garden fence leaving it damaged, and another time they'd opened the back gate and left something in the shed, only to not shut the gate properly and it nearly blew off the hinges. It wouldn't be so bad but when I'm expecting a parcel I always put a note on the door to leave it with the neighbour.

I did think about leaving a note but then people know you aren't in then so it's a bit risky.

The Yodel driver who comes here uses his own saloon car. As mentioned, the 3 packages I have had from Yodel have all been late. The DHL tracker showed the items as being on their vehicle and out for delivery on the correct day, but did not arrive until 1-7 days later.
