YN 622 controller (Now available)

well i got a shock today!
mine arrived, I was expect the flash I bought from gadgeteer and to my surprise I had two parcels both attempted to be delivered yesterday.
My shiney new 622 TX :):) I am going to test but from first quick fire and mess seems ok. much easier than up/down etc.

Mine arrived today - Been too busy to test. Will report back this weekend.

Well after messing around with it for a couple of hours I really like it, if an imbecile like me can fathom it out it must be easy to use. I can now break off, have a cuppa and still know what my settings are. The only niggle I've got is when it's used as a shutter release, you press the test button on one of the transceivers to focus and release the button to fire the shutter, meaning that the shutter always fires whether you decide to take the photo or not.

Funny how the 622c's were out way before the 622n's but not so on these
I've never used Nikon, but I believe it's due to the Nikon body being less 'friendly' to the settings than the Canon.

This both delayed the introduction of the triggers for Nikon and made the controller more necessary.

Although I can't believe how it could be that much more frustrating than on the canon and still be usable.

Nikon flash protocols are more complex apparently.

Same thing happened to the PeeWee flexs, which were out much earlier for Canon than Nikon.

Why YN went early with the Nikon 622TX version I don't know.

Perhaps they're putting more resources into getting the E3-RT and 600EX-RT pieces out for Canon?
