Hi Folks,
Looking to buy a flash gun for occasional use so can't justify price of Nikon or Metz. The YN-467 looks to be good value at around £60. It would be getting used mainly indoors with my D90, so would like to use the iTTL facility.

I would be glad to hear of any experiences good or bad and any comment on reliability and suitability.

Look forward to hearing from you all!

I bought one a few months ago. I am very impressed with it. It works extremely well on Manual which is what I am mainly using it for, although I tried the TTL functions and they work as advertised. I've tried it both on camera and off camera via a TTL cord and it works very well with a fast recycle time. It was my first ever flash and I was impressed with the build quality, although the battery compartment/door is a bit on the cheap and frustrating side!

I have since bought a couple of older Nikon flashes and the YN does lack a little in comparison, particularly when it comes to its power output. It is significantly less powerful than both the Nikon SB-28 and Nikon SB-80 that I now own. However, I bought it for its TTL capabilities as I didn't want to spend £150+ on an SB-600, so for that purpose it is highly recommended.

Sorry for the belated thanks, Richard, but I really appreciate you taking time to reply to my enquiry. It is a great help in the decision-making process, particularly as I'm probably not going to make too much use of flash and therefore cannot justify the price of a SB700/800.

Thanks, again,

Ernie

The combined price of my 3 flashes was less than the price of an SB600, so I understand what you're saying! :)
So the YN-467 is ideal for the times when you just want to pop it on the hotshoe, or preferably, off camera with a TTL cord... it works extremely well for those situations. I can't see you being disappointed with it at all.

Ive got my self YN460 few mouths ago and Im looking to buy another 2 of YN possibly 560 because of its better power.

Thanks, Kamil, that's worth looking at too.

Cheers, Ernie

Recently bought 3 YN560s to go with my Nissin di-622mk2 for use with my 7D.

The reason being I've read great reviews about these flashes, I'm a bit of a budget and there's no space to store stuff in the flat - oh and I'm a beginner, so we'll see if I move to more expensive lighting set ups.
