I'm off to the Alps and Pyrenees fairly shortly, and will be taking all my gear with me. I have a Lowepro Slingshot 200AW, into which I manage to fit the following:
50D + 3 batteries, one charger
100-400 L and hood
24-105 L and hood
10-20 Sigma and hood
Nifty Fifty
Set of 3 extension tubes
SLR Zoom gorilla pod
430 EX2 Flash, plus spare batteries
Netbook and Charger
Assortment and filters, CF cards and cleaning cloths.
...and I'm very happy with that!
Now, here's the problem: When I leave the campsite and head up ino the mountains, I also have to take an 8 month old in a back carrier... The wife carries baby-minding stuff (dunno what's in that bag, but it's apparently important..), so I can't get her to carry anytihg useful.
I'm not expecting to be able to take my full kit uphill with me, but I would like to take, as a minimum, the 50D, 1 spare batt and memory, 24-105L and if possible the 10-20. Backpacks are out, because baby has to go there. Are any of the belt-mounted bags gonna take that and still be stable? Chest mounted, if that exists? Anybado got any thoughts?
Perhaps I'm asking a little much.
FWIW, I work with a 24v cordless drill, hammer and 18v impact driver hanging off my belt, so the weight here shouldn't pose too much of an issue.
