I think I have settled on a Canon IP4500 to print the plates for my thesis (compilations of SEM photographs so vaguely relevant
) but I have a couple of questions.
Can anyone give me a vague idea of how many A4 prints you get out of a set of cartridges on this printer? My images are primarily black and white with a lot of black background so I know I will get through the black pretty quickly but it would be nice to have an idea of how quickly (10 prints or 100?) . I have searched around and got various 'price per photo' costs but with no breakdown of ink and paper costs.
I am also on the search for a thin glossy or semi-glossy paper (like the kind of stuff leaflets are made from, or very thin photo paper) that I could print on. I will have about 30 of these images to bind in with another 250 pages or so, so normal photo paper is too thick, it really needs to be 120 gsm or less I think. The thinnest I have found so far is Phoenix thin photo paper at 150 gsm but it's sold online so I can't actually see what it looks like. Finally, I will ultimately have to print about 8 x these 30 prints so paper cost is definitely an issue - the cheaper the better (but without being rubbish quality).
Oh, and I'd also like the moon on a stick
Any help appreciated.
