Hi,
I've always wanted to get into photography and finally took the plunge and bought a Sony A77 last autumn. Thanks to online tutorials, a few books and endless amounts of help on AVForums I've learnt so much already and can already see an improvement in my photos, as well as PP. Obviously I still have a LONG way to go before I consider myself a good photographer though
I haven't yet pigeon-holed myself into a type of photography yet, and probably never will. However, I do like insect macro photography and recently have really started to appreciate street photography. However, I haven't yet had the confidence/nerve to go out and do street photography. I don't think this is helped by the fact that I live in a small town and if I went around taking pictures of folk I'd either get a smack for my trouble, or brandished the town nutter
Maybe if I lived i a large city this would be easier.
I do very much like images with shallow DOF creating good subject isolation allowing them to pop, almost giving a superimposed kind of look. Due to this I hope to buy some very fast lenses at some point, and possibly a full frame if I can ever afford it. But for the time being I'm very impressed and happy with the A77, and I have to say I'm one of the ones that prefers the EVF to OVF
