Currently looking at a Yashica 35W rangefinder, just to have a go with one. HOwever, the filter ring has a bit of dent in it. Are the lenses interchangeable on them, or is it fixed?

If so, I guess it will still be good to just have a go with a Ragefinder.

Looks like a fixed lens rangefinder to me.
That's not say the lens can't be changed, its just a little more complicated than say M42 screw it and see.
If I really needed to use filters, I'd probably cobble something together all Heath Robinson like, rather than try and repair dinked threads.:)

they seem to go for very little money on Ebay.
Though it is not a camera I remember.
Their minister 3 was their most successful one.
You will see a number of their electro 35 modes around but they needed mercury batteries. and flash is a problem.

Thanks. I didn't go for this in the end, but might try and pick up a Minister 3. Any opinions on them for a pretty cheap way in to try a Rangefinder?

In their day they were eexcellent... I sold lots of them.

The Olympus 35 SP (or SPn) is Better but costs a lot more today as it did then... The lens is excellent even by todays standard. ( It is a classic of its kind.
The other popular range were the Canon QL range (QL17) comes to mind.

I've picked up a Minister II for now from eBay to have a play.
