My wife has recently had the area she uses (in a community center) for her Preschool Playgroup vandalised. The idiots get onto the roof all drugged up or drunk, and they proceed to rip tiles off. They also climb over the fence to the childrens playgroup outside area (we're talking toys and items for 3 yr olds here) and proceed to wreck them; a large colourful caterpillar the kids crawl through - smashed to bits, a shed used as a dolls house - they tried to set it on fire, a childrens square shaped climbing frame all kicked and broken... all because of drugs (my wife found several remnants of them around the playgroup area!!)
So, she reports this to the police, and they come out to speak with her and her business partner, assess the damage and make their report. The council comes out to repair the roof (it is their building), but my wife has to cover the cost of the damaged equipment of course. It happens again, and the same thing happens - the police come out, speak to my wife and write up their report.
Now, one evening last week, around 9:30, the kids were actually on the roof pulling tiles and in the garden wrecking the play gear again - but this time there were people in the building using it. They called the police to tell them that the kids they had been looking for are actually in the garden and on the roof now, so please come straight away.
45 mins later the police turned up, whilst the kids doing the damage are nowhere to be seen! Typical eh!
Now, had they told the police there was a guy with a camera hanging around outside I wonder how long they'd have taken to turn up then!!!
