Yet again I am stuck for ideas fit my son..... he's 20 and had the usual phone, tablet, laptop and plenty of clothing.......ideas welcome:)

Lol to the above suggestions...his biggest hobby is reading but he had more books than waterstones

Have a look at MenKind.co.uk, see if there are any gadgets or fun stuff, they have stores you can buy from, or express delivery if ordered before tomorrow. Got my daughters bf [same age] a remote control car that defies gravity by driving on walls and ceilings. Silly but fun when you are stuck for ideas.

ETA: If can drive, what about one of the driving day experiences at a race track, of off roading, rally, whatever would appeal to him

Much as I would tend to agree, I succumbed to the Apple camp when I bought my car since only iPods can be fully controlled from either the wheel or touchscreen of the car. We now have 3 iPods between us - one each for the beach and one that lives in the car. Hate the earphones that come with them though!

Why have a dog cut out? ;)

Nice  my reply would of been a kick up the Arsenal :meh: :indifferent:

He is such a good fella that if he asked for a 3 course meal with Kate Bush and I could arrange it I would.....so an iPod is worth it to see him smile

Depending on how much you spend on him, what about an experience day like a track day or something.

His needs are simple rent, food, books and the odd beer....he is a student and track days and experience days are a waste on him

Buy him a home-brew kit & a Scalextric set. Then you'll be able to have male bonding sessions..........at his expense. ;)

What is he studying? How about something related to his course?

Literature.....and so far this year we have bought books to a value 900 quid.....so I was thinking something different....a prostitute would be cheaper

OK ... So enough books.!!

What about a cookery course, aimed specifically at students. (Nutritious stuff on a tight budget .... ?) there seem to be some around, depending where he's based.

That sounds like a good idea...he lives on the south bank in London....so there should be plenty of choice...off to Google I go

A friend of mine here in South Herts just outside the M25 has been a caterer & cook for 30 years and does student cookery lessons, easily accessible via train, so maybe not as a chrimbo pressie, but if you wanted to treat him and are struggling to find something closer to him, give me a shout.

Thanks for all the ideas....went with the iPod in the end..... :)

"Well, Son, I went to the Ferrari garage to buy your christmas present and the salesman said that nothing was better than a Ferrari for christmas. So I've got you exactly that - nothing!"
