Come on then who has one or getting one delivered today

I'm in the position for 1st time ever lol that i can afford to buy one , mine is coming today from shop to can't bloody wait

i preferred this over the ps4 for the user side of things i.e. plug sky box into the back of the unit making it a multi system that is what I'm looking forward too having everything in one place games music , blu ray / dvdd and sky no more switching over anymore can't bloody wait lol

what games you getting with yours ???

mien is battlefield , call of duty , and fifa 14 which was free wouldn't pay for that lol

My son took delivery of his this morning and is currently dribbling over it.

This is the first console generation that just doesn't interest me. The gap between console and PC is just bigger than ever games cost twice as much on the console, and they still cant even manage 1080p 60fps never mind the 1440p 120fps im used to.

On the subject of using the Xbone as a switching device, that's what a home cinema receiver is for.

by the time i bought a home cinema recover and then a pc that can be around the same spec would cost more then a xbox

the difference now is you can go on a game in less then 1 min from booting up which is about the same if not less time then a pc

its a argument that can never be won

the ps4 is more for gaming but I'm happy with the compromise of what xbox have done its between a pc and a home cinema system

Cant be better than my good old Amiga.

 :bonk:

What exactly is the benefit of plugging a sky box into this?

not having to switch tv channels by the remote or like we have to by a hdmi switch as we have too much in there at the min

we currently run
blu ray player
xbox 360
ps3
sky
itunes

so we are reducing it down to almost 2 maybe 3 by having the xbox one now and you can actually plug n the ps4 in to the back of it

Want one so bad :( Don't have a spare £500 though!

The PS4 does 1080p at 60fps.

So will a raspberry pi rendering a blank screen.....kinda depends what software is running

Not in a rush for this release. Will go Xbox route mainly as I'm interesting in the development opportunities, and Skype features are great as an expat, but happy to wait for first price drop and some more titles to appear.

Not in most games, a lot are 960p upscaled some even 720p.

I get that a decent pc costs a lot more, but i already have one for other uses. At least this time round both Microsoft and Sony have gone with standard off the shelf components.

I'll be plumping for PS4 sometime next year I suspect. I rarely spend over £30 on a new game though, so hoping the initial prices of PS4 games at £49 drops quickly! Im happy to wait a few months so price usually drops down, at the moment anyway. Although Last of Us and GTA V are still over £40 :'(

Nah, so far I've seen nothing game wise thats made me want the xbox1 or the ps4...

Call of Duty: Ghosts - Native 1080P
Killzone: Native 1080P
AC4: Native 1080P
Fifa 14: Native 1080P
Infamous: Native 1080P
Knack: Native 1080P

Any others I should post? Pretty much everything released on PS4 will be native 1080P or patched Day 1.

As far as i am aware all of those bar Killzone are 30fps?
And all lack severely in the AA and texture department compared to the XBone, they chose to lower the resolution but have some AA and post processing.

COD 60fps
Killzone 60fps
Fifa 60fps

If they can patch launch titles to 1080p 60fps Im confident they can 'fix' upcoming titles.

Your last comment was based on 1080p not including 60fps.

Diablo 3 1080p 60fps
NBA14 1080p 60fps

and some other minor titles.

Okay, but my original comment was "still cant even manage 1080p 60fps never mind the 1440p 120fps" and the includes a decent level of AA and post processing.
PC is far better in all ways but one, price.

Yes, I think people who use consoles and PCs know that. But thats like me saying a Canon 70-200 IS2 is better than a Sigma 70-200 OS. Generally things that cost more are better.

Picked up one last night for the missus
She's really pleased with it
We've just watched skyfall on it and the sound and picture was better than our existing blue ray player
I've still got my xbox 360 will be a long time before I upgrade there's lots of 360 games that I still want to play

Why upgrade when you can play with the missus'?
yes do play with the missus but also we play coop on some games which is better via xbox live rather than split screen

Got mine this morning, but been working all day :(
Finally go it set up, which took long enough, then the wife decided she wanted to do the fitness thing.
Final started to load bf4 which is taking its time & cant get online until 100% install either..so far not overly impressed.
having to install the game before play seems backwards to me,better be a marked improvement for the hassle.

thats me started setting up a about 8.30 and still havnt played a game yet.

Yeah, ridiculous you have to install patches to fix them before they work as they should. Here's your new car sir, mind you, the airbags won't work till we book you in for a recall next week.

what's the point of having a blu ray player and a PS3 on the same TV?

the wife does not like using the ps3 she prefers her blu ray player hoping to convert her as it the app's on the dash are so simple to pin so can set up for tv and blu ray on the home page so she might prefer that when i sort it out

same here but it does not have to be 100% for you to play it just so you are aware i think it is around 75 % or 80 % was not what i was expecting with the you load the game and it downloads in the background but i can get around this issue along as the rest of the consul matches what they said

For online I thought it was the full 100% im sure. Would let me jump into single after about 5%.

I had issues with the download too. Had to disconnect the intet net and re start the bix and down load as it was taking ages(8% too 30min) after downloaded the whole game in 25

most reviews seem to suggest PS4 currently has the better graphics, however both consoles seem to be turning out good looking games.

Is it right that you cant take your games around to your mates house and play them on his/her Xbox because they are tied to your machine? (someone just told me this and i'm finding it hard to believe).

Im not sure about that, but dont think so..was there not talk about just signing in on ur live account to play them or was that lost with all the drm stuff.

Would that not cause issues with used games?

initially that was going to be the case, i think now you can do it though, until they change their minds again....

I'm amazed the greedy sods thought about doing it in the first place.

So what chance have I with satalite broadband with a very slow download of 512kb and a monthly limit of 25gb and there no chance of playing online with a very slow ping rate. How's your experience with the one so far

I wouldnt like to try the first update is a gig I think and took me a good 30 plus min with 6mb connection. so far it seems okay. Still laggy now and again even with the servers and the game is glitchy..had a few times where the controller and screen keep shaking and doesnt stop until I die. 64 player is mad , though I dont know whats happening half the time.
