#1 son is making mutterings about how he would like one of these for Christmas. I know nothing about games/gaming so where is the best place to buy one?
 
My other half also gets all his XBox 360 gear from play.com. Quick delivery and usually very competitively priced.
 
Xbox 360 rules!! I have 4 them in my house and all of them get used equally (before anyone says WHY??? LOL) but seriously its online capabilities rock so much and even though you have to subscribe to xbox live you won't find a single xbox live user complain about having to pay for such a kick ass service. Besides I personally think that 12 months for around £50 is awesome considering the service you get.
 
I would get a GAME reward card and buy it from GAME.co.uk or in store. You will get about £15 worth of in store credit.
 
Got mine for my lad at PC World, managed to get a decent enough deal at the time. Not sure what prices are now though.
 
They are like rocking horse droppings at the moment, i have been trying to get one today lol can buy a PS3 anywhere but not a XBOX 360 Elite all because Halo3 has been released !

I think i may have found one to pick up tomorrow, but be prepared for a bit of a hunt.

All the prices seem the same, even Play isnt any cheaper than elsewhere ! If you want the HD DVD drive as well go to the PCWorld site they are doing an offer at the moment and if they have one in your local store they are only charging 69.99 for it if bought with a 360 !

PS3 for £299 from wednesday. Get one. Bluray is waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy better than hddvd, more space and more bandwidth.

I've had one since launch day, still working fine :) Though I'm about the only person left ;)

If only it had the games the 360 does right now. Aside from MGS4 theres nothing I really want for a PS3 and loads I want for my 360.

I was tempted to hit the report post button for this post as you say in your sig :p lol

40GB PS3 will be £299.99. However you will lose the memory card reader slots and all of the backwards compatibility. Oh and you're going to buy the new controllers with rumble when they come out.
 
Even at £299 the PS3 isn't worth it, no good games and the online sucks compared to the 360 not even in the same league. Had one for a while and played a bit of F1 which was ok and then sold it cos it never got used.
 
I love my 360, although I do wish they had put a HDD in as standard so the developers would make better use of them. That and HDMI would have been nice (but not nice enough for me to buy an elite).

I'll get a PS3 at some point just for a cheap blueray player.
 
Lego Starwars is coming out for the Wii with light sabre / wiimote action :D
 
Im addicted to Halo3, its a stonking game. Had a day off today and spent 80% of it on halo!

Now thats sad !!!
 
I'm pretty sure I have a Wii as well. At least that's what I think I was playing on at Christmas. :p

You didn't tell me this before you sold it to me :p

I use it to play blu-ray discs we rent from lovefilm. Its without a doubt the biggest pile of doo doo I have ever had the mispleasure of owning. As a blu ray player its great. I bought Resistance for it and played it for 30 mins or so and got bored.

I think I bought the rubbery duck game and lemmings and thats about it - they were fun for a bit but the online presence of the PS3 is nada, nil, nought compared to the 360. Demos take an absolute age to download compared to the Xbox, just a complete waste of space.

A mate sent me a link to a story about Sony pleading with 3rd party developers to give the format a chance and not to abandon it.

The only thing making me keep the thing is that its cheaper than a standalone blu ray player and Disney are still signed up to the single format.

HD-DVD is fantastic and is fighting back against blu ray with a vengeance. Got Serenity, T2, Transformers and Heroes Season 1 on HD-DVD. I only have casino Royale (free with the console) on the PS3.

Sony have dropped the ball, big style. Its nice to see them fall off their pedestal and goes to show that nobody in the gaming world is invincible.

The new Lego Star Wars is out in November, I've got it pre-ordered already

Currently enjoying Forza 2 and PGR4 which is immense fun

The only game worth getting (for me) on the ps3 is going to be Gran Turismo, so I'm going to hold off getting a ps3 until then and hopefully it will have dropped in price to a reasonable level as well.

I'm so glad that GTA 4 will be out on the 360 :D
 
Last I heard with Gran Turismo HD - when you bought it (when it eventually comes out) it comes with no cars, you have to buy them in extra as per songs in singstar.

Things might have changed since then.

We should all share our gamertags.

www.play-asia.com are even cheaper just make sure you buy games that are either region free or for the European market.
