Not got rrod but had a red light in just once, now it just crashes on startup and stalls. Anyone had this repaired and if so, how much? It's the original version, not the black one :(

the early xboxes could be repaired for free because of a manufacture fault.
Mine was shipped to Frankfurt to be repaired at no cost

Might try MS customer support :) Otherwise, it's a new one.... the missus will kill me if I buy one!!!!!

When my second XBox died (disc drive died), I didn't bother with repairs. I just went to Game and bought an Arcade unit, plugged my hard drive into it, and threw the old one in the corner. The Arcade machines are not expensive, and I've had no problems with it.

When this happened to mine, I sent it back saying it had RROD'ed and they just sent me back a refurbed one. All free of charge, even picked it up from my house.

I had the same problem a while back, you can go onto the xbox website and log a fault, it will ask for your serial number, etc and it will tell you whether your xbox is still under their 3 year extended warranty.

Clarke.

Think ill just buy a used black one to match the rest of the tv stuff. Too much hassle sending it away and it's our of warranty anyway so would probably have to pay for a repair
