So, as per thread title, I'm looking for some advice re the X-pro2 against the Sony A7III.

I already have an x-pro2 and am really struggling with it. I just don't like using it! I'm a (documentary - yeah, 'that' word!) wedding photographer, so need my cameras to be quick and responsive, I just don't find the Xpro2 to suit me (that's not me saying it's a bad camera, as it's obviously not). So my question is, has anyone on here used both? And is the Sony a generally better camera?

You might not like it but a quick look at your website suggests you're getting good results. Keep your glass and go for an XT-2 or XH-1 ? Plenty of wedding photographers swear by them, Sony has a loyal following too but expect to pay big £££. XT-2 should be enough of an upgrade in terms of usability, it's a joy to use and you could get a mint used one for £700-800.

In what way are you struggling with it? I had an X-Pro2 and now using a A7iii, the only real issue I had with the X-Pro2 is you cannot set it to use EVF only. There’s a lag when you bring it up to your eye and the EVF to pop up.

As Pete said, have a look at the X-T2 (EVF is much bigger) which is more DSLR styled or X-H1 which is bigger and more comfortable to use. The X-T3 is also round the corner so maybe wait until then.

If you are still thinking about the A7iii then you cannot go wrong with it, it’s very much a traditional DSLR layout. You will need to spend time to customise it to how you want it to work, the menus are a mess but once you have how you want it you probably won’t need to go into them. Have a look at the A7 forum, quite a few people in there have switched from Fuji to Sony there.

Ah cheers for that, I would add that 99% of the stuff on my website was when I was shooting Canon only (I got bored and fancied a change!) I have thought about the XT-2 yeah, I think maybe that's what it is, using the Xpro2, I dunno, it just doesn't feel right, if that makes sense?

Yeah that lag kills me with the EVF, im a very instinctive photographer, so always want my camera's to work straight away, maybe it's my technique that's off lol Thanks for the wise words, maybe i'll wait for the X-T3, see what that's like and then make a decision. :)
