I don't watch the programme, but when I heard Brian and Roger were going to be on the show on Saturday and expecting them to perform, I made the mistake of watching the program.
I think Sting is right, it's just very bad karaoke.

Simon saw the ££££ signs which is why he didn't get shot of them last week.

All we can do is hope the likes of Jamie, Stacey etc manage to make their own way, without Mr Coward Cowell's help.

jamie was not that good there are hundreds of wanabees like him in pubs every night.

we [my 8 year old and I] VOTE FOR THE TWINS

A because my son likes them and

B because I believe this is a talent show, if indeed it was the twins would not of been in the top 12 in the first place...

That makes little sense :D

Jamie was an average singer, you´ll find one in almost every pub one night of the week, no loss. Lloyd should go next, he´s woeful, followed by the twins when common sense prevails as the only 4 worth looking at in this comp are Joe, Olly, Dan and Stacey.

I think the crown will eventually go to Olly, and probably rightly so. Joe has the best voice (arguably) but he´s not as commercial as Olly. I don´t think Dan did himself any favours with his feeling sorry for himself week so he´ll probably not pull in the votes to beat Olly and Stacey is not quite as good as either of the 3 boys.

OMG! I´ve just ousted myself as an X-Factor fan!! :suspect:

You say you vote for them because it's a talent show. Then you contradict yourself by implying you don't think it is. Then you say if it was a talent show the twins wouldn't have been top 12.

I have full repsect for John Deacon quitting the band after Freddie Died.
Sorry to throw a spanner in the works but they are not Queen without Freddie.

Love em or hate em, the music from these two groups will be around for a long long time, more that can be said for a lot of the ***** which is out there at the moment, the Beatles (music not all admittedly), is played by the
London Philharmonic Orchestra.
 
I had the very great pleasure of seeing Queen live at Wembley in 1986. They were an amazing band. Freddie Mercury was, for me anyway, the best performer I've ever seen. I agree, it's not Queen without him but Brian & Roger wanted to carry on and I would never hod it against them but I haven't bought any of their stuff since Freddie died. I have seen We Will Rock You 4 times though. :D

I'd be very interested to hear who you'd put above them in the league table of musical talent we've seen on the planet in the last 50 years :)

I'm not saying they are necessarily at the top but by god 'overrated. is not a term you can use lightly for those 4 :)

No point as it's totally subjective. For example I love U 2 but don't care for the Rolling Stones. All the bands mentioned in this thread have established themselves as giants in the music business.

To suggest that one or more of them is over rated is like discussing which flavour of ice cream is best.

Personally I can not stand Tom Jones but I would not call him overrated, he is one of the world's greatest performers.

All great performers but what places the Beatles apart from any of them as well as their vocal capabilities is their song writing talent.

Just my opinion:)

There is one exception in your list, and that is Coldplay, do you seriously think they are above the Beatles in a league table of musical talent over the last 50 years, I personally like Coldplay but above the Beatles:lol:

True - however the are certain qualities such as technical abilty on a particular instrument which may elevate one over another.
