Hi All

Decided that for the time being I am going to stick with Zenfolio, as they seem to have a few more of the features I require available - at the right price tier. I am though, a little disappointed that I am unable to customise my header/footer, or to remove the Zenfolio branding at the top of each page - but apparently they are currently working on an additional tier where this will be a feature.

SmugMug allows this level of customisation for the same price, but doesn't allow full domain name placement - only on their $140 per year package can you have your own domain name point fully to their servers, whereas this is available as you can see, for the $40 price with Zenfolio. This feature was more important to me at this time.

So, I have been tweaking it a little to make it more pleasing to look at, have added some contact details etc. Most of the images I have uploaded are in the 'Puppy Portraits' section - as this is where I have been doing the most work.

Please can you experts offer some constructive comment and feedback for me so I can further refine/improve the site. I have already received a few requests (locally, and mainly from my wifes friends etc) which is an encouraging start.

Cheers all... comments most welcome.

You didn't go to Africa recently did you?
I certainly did :) hehehe... you like?

I actually went twice, but the first time I had my Nikon Coolpix stolen from inside (yes, inside) my suitcase and the pics I took were crap as I only managed to obtain a cheapie replacement for the safari I went on. The second time I went, I took my E-400 and got some of the ones you see, as well as purchased the E-510 when I was there and took some others.

Was a business trip, but had a day free and was all in all, a great trip.

When did you go, I may be massively wrong but I seem to recognize you from the airport....

Good photos though.

Wow.... what a coincidence if this is the case.

The last trip was from Sunday 19th Aug through Thursday 23rd Aug... previous one was... errrm... sometime in June/July?? WIll need to check if you want the exact dates from that one.

Did we speak at the airport or something?

Ah, its not you... you just look amazing like someone I spoke to... that was on september 12th though. No worries.

I have noticed ashamedly that I have completely hijacked this thread and made it go way off topic. Apologies.

You look younger than I imagined you!
Lovely work on the site, one niggle, when you start looking through the photo's I can't find a button to get back to the home page, I have to click the back button on Firefox a number of times depending on how many photo's that I've clicked on.

Oh and just seen a spelling mistake. :)

All images displayed on RefelctingMe are optimised for www display, and are shown as 'lo-res' images, but all the images are available for purchase as 'hi-res' images. Feel free to contact me for any further information.

Oh!! I'll take that one as a compliment then if you don't mind as not many come my way any more :):)

So, do I come across as an old 'un on here then Susane.. ;)

I agree, the absence of 'Back' buttons/links is a little frustrating, but it's something I can't control as Zenfolio is a managed service. There are ways to navigate though, for example if you're in an image, then the ReflectingMe > Gallery Name are actually links that take you back to their locations.

Eeeek... and in the name I chose as well.. how embarrassing... thanks for pointing out Susane.

Where abouts did you go in Africa ?
Hi Chewy: Johannesburg both times.

First time I had a free Saturday in between traveling on to Dubai, so on the Friday evening I drove to Entabeni reserve just to the west of the Kruger National Park. Drove back in the early hours of Sunday mornign for my flight to Dubai. Took loads of pics, but with crappy camera (prior to my DSLR relationship!) having has my better P&S stolen on the way into South Africa.

Second time I went to (1) a Lion reserve about an hour outside J'brg, and also in a free afternoon, went to J'brg zoo.

Great site, love the puppy images!
Thanks Spencer, appreciate the comments.

Nice clean and simple web-site  Would try and pop up some more variety of shots and a few more to boot...

Depends what you want to achieve from the site. Mine has a front page with one image and then options running off it, a mini bio, contact, portfolio and back to the home - hoping to drive a little bit more business my way - If yours is the same, then showcase some big ones.

Best advice I had for my site (and it was from somebody on here less than a year ago), was to always ensure your best shots are up, don't display ones that you aren't 100% right....But that's just my thoughts :)
