Some of you may of seen already that I hired a 70-200 f2.8 L IS from the above company for the long weekend. Thought I'd write a quick review on the service I received.

Placed the order on Wednesday afternoon, through the easy to use website. lens arrived at my work on Thursday morning. The lens was extremely well packed, in hard foam and it's original carry bag. The lens itself looked brand new, and was in excellent working order. Communication during ordering with Stewart was first class and extremely quick.

Sadly, the time came this morning to return the lens. As we both work in London we arranged a meet this morning, which was as hassle free as the delivery on Thursday.

So, a massive thumbs up to Stewart and lensesforhire. A great business idea that's well executed. I'll be back for more, that's a promise.

Likewise I rented a 17-40 f/4L from lensesforhire and was very pleased with the service.

Stewarts main concentration certainly seems to be around customer satisfaction. Lensesforhire comes highly recommended.

Certainly does. The lack of deposit makes it appealing. The personal touch and dealing with someone who is customer focused makes it very appealing.

Looking to use lensesforhire in the near future for a 85 f/1.2 L and maybe a few others.

Had the site bookmarked for a while, nice to know the service is good, won't hesitate to use them if I need a rental in the future :)

Just ordered a 70-200 F4L for a job I've landed. Looking forward to trying it out :)

I have used Lensesforhire on two occasions recently - I can recommend them without hesitation. Stewart went well out of his way to organise postage to N.Ireland. Big thumbs up!

I used them for a 24-105L recently and the service was excellent. Would not hesitate going back again, especially as he has the 120-300 2.8 in :D

Only Canon glass aHHHHH thats such a bummer :(

boo hoo CRY!!!!!

Well the job went well. The lens was fantastic. Cost and service were amazing. Will defo be back for more. Fantastic service

I recently sold Stewart my 200mm f1.8 in perfect working order, so you can hire this amazing lens for a weekend too now!!

Having just finished my first hire period with Lensforhire on Friday, I must say the service is superb, hired a 24-70 for 2 weeks, loved the lens, the only bad thing about the entire experience - having to give the lens back at the end!

Cannot recommend these guys enough, if you are considering using them, do... simple as.

The service sounds great.

I'll be using them to hire a 135 F2 for some wedding shoots this year :)

Look again at the website, you will be happy :D

I have to say that I hired one over the weekend ( a lovely little L series) and was very impressed with it and the condition. The service from Stewart is great even though I was a bit blonde and nearly cocked up the whole couriering it back thing. But I spoke to Stewart and he was very patient with me, and I hope I haven't upset him.

Thanks again and I would recommend using lensesforhire.

This thank you is a little late, but certainly has no less meaning for it.

I would like to thank Stewart for really sticking his neck out to get me sorted with some Nikon glass.

I've been wanting to use a decent prime for some time, especially with some big events coming up (one has been and gone now).

Stewart managed to source the only 300mm f2.8 vr in the country for me, had it delivered direct to my partner from the supplier (without seeing it himself first).

So big thumbs up from me

My Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 has just arrived and I'd also like to give a big thumbs up to Stweart for an excellent service. The only downside is that the bloody thing weighs a ton! It will be used on the D300 at Badminton this weekend alongside the 70-200mm VR on the D3 - I think I'll sleep well on Saturday night.

:D

I have just received a 17-55 2.8 IS from him this morning. Fantastic service and great communication. Really looking forward to using this lens now. :)

Just had my first hire from Stewart. First class service. Prompt delivery and great communication.
I'll be using his service again I'm sure.....

Just another  for Stewart at LensesForHire.

I've just posted off a 300/2.8 and a 400/5.6 that I've rented for the last couple of weeks. Fantastic service and communication. I'd certainly use them again.

Paul

I have not used Stewart myself (yet) but I was with another photographer a couple of weeks ago and her 100-400 got damaged at the event, so I emailed her his site address as she needed one whilst hers was being repaired. Saw her again on Saturday and she was full of praise for the service she received

I'm off to dununda for three weeks
ordered some glass from www.LensesForHire.co.uk
Parcel arrived yesterday - er with the wrong stuff in it
Quick phone call to Stewart - aha looks like two parcels with swapped labels

Then the good bit, Stewart leaps on his horse (well metaphorically) drives to St. Albans to retrieve my glass (and leave the correct glass there for t'other chap), then drives to Leighton Buzzard so I get my set ready for the hols.

Stuff goes wrong - but it's how you recover that makes the difference.
I'm most impressed with the efforts made to sort out what could have been a big problem, but turned out to be a non-event.

Thanks Stewart - well done you!:thumbs:

Hired a Canon 10-22 from them for a recent trip to Florence, couldn't be happier.

Great lens and service!

quick update
back from foreign parts

I hired
* Canon 50L/1.2 - stunning bit of kit - need to speak to Santa now
* Canon 2x extender - glad I hired it, glad to send it back - image quality did suffer and losing 2 stops meant upping the ISO - which further degraded quality

thanks Stewart!

I'd also report a brilliant service for a Nikkor 70-200 2.8 VR I hired earlier in the year. Would certainly use them again.

Rented a Canon 2x extender from these, Excellent service, good comms, cannot reccomend highly enough. Will definately use in the future !!

:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Hired a 1.4 Nifty at the weekend (although I pre-empted how much I'd like it and also ordered one from Kerso which arrived yesterday  )

Cracking service especially as I hired at very short notice

Superb - thanks Stewart

Thought I'd have a search before starting a new thread....

Just wanted to say a big thumbs up for Stewart.

I hired a Nikon 85mm f/1.4 to cover a Christening today, the lens arrived in good time and excellent condition. The shots went like a dream today, the combination of this lens on my D700 was fantastic and enabled every shot I wanted in lighting conditions that weren't ideal.

Great service all round. :)

Steve

I have used LfH a number of times now. Most recently I had a 300mm f2.8 L and 2x converter for a week. As usual Stewart's delivery was on time (although he could have warned me of the bloody weight!) and I really enjoyed using such a class bit of kit for the first time.

We had a bit of a problem returning the kit, but Stewart was on the ball as usual. Top marks, as always !!

Steve

I am yet to use Stewart, was going to hire a 17-40 for the camping holiday with the missus this weekend, but funds are super tight.

When I come out of uni, or even perhaps during uni, I'll definitely be using Stewart to try before I buy on the 17-40, the 85/1.8 and the 24-70 :)

I recently used Stewart again and can only say, brilliant service. He runs his business how I like to run mine and for that reason alone, he will continue to be held in high regard by me.
I have no hesitation in recommending Lenses for Hire.

Kev.

recently had a 24-70l after borrowing one from a friend, my first hiring experience and could not be happier!
excellent service, excellent lens.

Hired a lens and TC from Stewart last week and can only echo what has been said here.

If all companies were as good to deal with as Lenses for Hire, the world would be a better place!

:clap::clap::clap:

I've just ordered one for the Southport air show at the end of the month.

Everything seems very straightforward.

Whats the best/safest/cheapest way to return it ?

Don't know about cheapest postage! But the lens comes in a good box with labels etc for returning and suggestions for postage .. or at least mine did :)

Cheers, not necessarily the cheapest but i just want to make sure it gets back ok.

I clicked one link and it said £999, typical royal mail rates eh ?

And yes, i do know why it did that

I used the courier pick up option which was a doddle.

Package it back up in the boxes it arrives in, stick the address label on the box and call the courier. They take care of the rest.

Just phoned LFH to make an enquiry, the girl on the phone was really helpful, and explained everything i wanted to know in detail, i will have no reservations in hiring from them in a few weeks when i need the lens, it's very refreshing to speak to someone on the other end of the phone who knows what there talking about and who is so helpful, so a big  from me.

Thanks for that, TG. I'll pass it on. Sharlene has only been with us for a month and it's nice that people are already praising her.
