It's a regular type post on here though MadPup so you'll forgive a few people suggesting that wedding photographers are in the region of £1k-5K (or more depending on how rich you are).
What you need to think about is what you want from the photographer. Do you just want to pay £200 for his time (& how long for - weddings can be a very long day), or are you expecting prints, cd of images, the photographer to relinguish all rights etc.
Then we've had the whole discussion about post processing of shots and whether the photographer hands over the raw unprocessed images, or produces the final results. Then there's the discussion about what to do with the failed/rubbish shots.
Then we could get into the whole value of photography discussion, where people will pay £3-5k on a honeymoon, £1000 or more on the dress, a fortune on the reception and bar bill, yet want a photographer for next to nothing. Hopefully a wedding is once only so it's a value call on recording the unique moment in time. The photographer will have several overheads, several thousands of pounds worth of kit to get the job done, insurance etc.
Hope this gives a little more insight for the responses.
