WT-4 help please

I've recently bought a Nikon WT-4 to use with my D3S. When I try and use it with my Mac Pro, a message comes up asking to change the USB setting on the camera to "MTP/PTP". I've tried the camera manual and the WT-4 manual but can't find anything that helps. Anybody any ideas please? All help appreciated. If I'm being a complete muppet, I'm open to the usual abuse.......:bonk:

To use the WT4 with the D3S you need to do a firmware update (I just can't remember if it is on the D3S or the WT4 (I think it's the WT4, that needs the update)

Check with the Nikon Website for firmware upgrades for both.

I'm taking a pure guess here as I'm not a Nikon user but is there an option to change the use for the USB connection. Perhaps an external GPS or Bluetooth option?

MTP usually stands for media transfer protocal but Nikon might be different. It may be asking you to change the USB setting to the Media transfer settings.

As I said it's a pure guess. :shrug:

I've been thinking more and checked my D3S and WT4.

My D3S firmware is 1.01
My WT4 firmware and 1.1

Thinking more about the setup process I'm pretty sure it's the D3S firmware needs to move to 1.01 if that doesn't work try updating the setup-utility.

No, they removed this option from their cameras a while back. It's typical of Nikon s/w to throw stupid errors like that

What others have said - firmware u/g both to the latest. I had this error with a D3S until I upgraded - D3 worked fine.
