Hey :)

Am looking to replace the standard neck strap n my Canon 40D as I don't like the camera swinging / bouncing about when I'm out strolling.... can anyone recommend one?

Have seen a couple on Amazon, although the price varies considerably - one was like £10, the other was £39.95 - is the price difference actually justified?

Are there any other options I might want to consider? Any advice appreciated!

Op-tech also do a wrist strap that attaches to one of the normal strap anchor points.

I also have a Canon hand strap that Andrew mentions. It's good but as he says needs the battery grip attached to be able to use it. Ironically, it then doesn't provide any security when shooting in portrait as you have to take your hand out of the strap to access the vertical grip. I used to get around this by using the Op-tech wrist strap in conjunction with the Canon hand strap for added security.

Have you considered a Sling Strap? The camera hangs at the hip and is easily accessed without the bouncing around on the chest you don't like. I use an Op-Tech one, but there are others too.

Thanks for the infos ;)

Although I do have the battery grip, I don't always have it attached due to the extra weight it adds... looks like they only have the loop strap left so fresh out of luck this time - will keep an eye on the thread for next time!

I had seen the waist straps in magazines so might take trip to a store and have a look at them in the flesh... ;)
