Hi All

With the WRC coming to Wales this weekend I am really tempted to go along, but have never been to a rally before and have no idea how it all works. I have checked out the website but it doesnt let me know details only general info about parking etc. If someone who has been before could give me a heads up that would be great.

What time do you need to arrive ? and is the traffic really bad ?
do you have to stay in the same place all day ?
how do you know where to stand to get good shots ?
Do you have to walk for miles and miles to get to the action ?
I take it you can get tickets on arrival ?

If you can help with any of these questions I would really appreciate it

cheers

chris

Never been but you need tickets to get on to the stages, not sure if you can buy them on the day.

the stage in cardiff is a special stage, the stage on sunday is in port talbot i think the first car goes round at nine

I’m gonna be travelling from Birmingham to Swansea on Sunday. If I go via the M5/M4 it is supposed to be about 2hr 15min, but if I got down “A”-roads then it will be an hour longer (According to Google maps). However, I know that it’ll be busy rally weekend and there is a contra-flow on the M4, so will it actually be faster down the back roads???

Any ideas how bad the traffic will be? i.e. How much to add to each journey time to be safe?

Regards,
James

Hi mate, I live in Stafford and travel to Swansea often. It is quicker going the M50, A40, A449, M4 then all down to the M4 on the M5. Trust me I must do the joinery at least 6 times a month for the last 18 months.
