I got a email from someone Pretty much telling me how horrible My photo's are. That's wonderful to hear on christmas eve & to my Personal photo's Not even like i got paid for doing them! :shrug::shrug::shrug::shrug:

A quote from there email.
"maybe one day you could aspire to join the ranks of the pic takers at sears Or better yet kmart or the holy Grail of glamour shots at the mall !!"

& then he felt the need to insult My friend's kid.

But honestly you must admit Your dog is better looking then your kid!!!

I did not ask for his opinion.:shrug:
I told him he must get a life..:cuckoo:
 
That's horrible! You're right about one thing, the sender of that email needs to get a life. :shake:
Hope that hadn't put you off taking photographs. :)

That's pretty terrible on any day of the year, but at this time it makes it even more spiteful.

Use it to drive your photography to the next level in the coming year and pay it no further mind.

It is a pity that there are some really nasty people around, and the internet allows them to be vindictive and yet remain anonymous if they desire.

I would not pay too much creedance to their comments and instead feel some sympathy for the fact that they seem only able to derive some pleasure from others pain.

Thank's guy's!! I'm just starting out & i think I'm doing pretty good! Funny thing is i Googled him & he's a grown man & a professional Photographer. I guess not all people are supportive & helpful like you guy's are. I'm new to this & i enjoy teaching people the thing's i learn. What a lonely sad man.

Especially of the one's of my pet's They don't live forever I love having great picture's of them forever.

I really love photography I always have even With my OLD p&s.

That's exactly what prompted me to start taking photography more seriously.
And I think your pet shots are lovely. Dogs don't make the easiest of subjects (mine comes with a built in camera radar) but you've done a great job of capturing them in some really natural looking poses.

It takes a very unique type of person to be that vindictive and spiteful - especially at this time of year.

Seriously though, don't waste your time waiting for replies and second-guessing who he might be. Just let it go. That sort of person isn't worth your time and effort.
Carry on enjoying your photography. Seeing that he hasn't got under your skin is probably the most irritating response that you can give him.

Take it as a compliment. No really. It's a bit like when I game online and get accused of hacking/cheating and being a rubbish noob etc. They're just jealous that you are good at it. It should remind you that you are doing things right and producing stunning images. And you are, from your flicker it looks like to me anyway.
 
That email speaks volumes - about the sender. No doubt a Billy no-mates lard arse with a problem. Ignore him.

He's obviously jealous of your work, as there are great shots in your Flikr account! As 'clicktor' said, take it as a compliment! :thumbs:
 
Having had a quick look through your Flickr I think you have a nice collection, including some real gems. Sounds like he might be one of the pro photogrpahers who seem to be trying to mount a campaign against anyone who is currently not a pro thinking they can earn some money from their photography. Either ignore it or take it as a compliment that he thinks you're a threat to his bussines.

Waiting for a link to his work.... professional interest only of course....
 
Allow me to express a different point of view, if I may.

Could it not possibly be someone who's got access to this persons' email account using it to send horrid emails? The actual photographer in question may not be the one who's sent this offending email? May be a dis-grunted employee, a gf who's about to break-up with him, a son who didn't get his Christmas Ferrari?

I am just guessing, from the extreme harsh and rude email and trying to match that with someone of minimum decency :shrug:. Anyone making a half-decent living knows better than to be so blatantly rude, and worse yet to vomit such words towards at younglings!

As has been suggested, just move on and if need be put this down as a mental note, as sad as it is, not everyone plays fair. A while ago I read something along the lines ....

Mummy Whale to Baby Whale, when you grow older and need to surface more often to catch your breath; that's when you will start to notice more harpoons firing at you.
