For some reason I've become very popular north of the border in the last 24 hours, I wonder how much money I will have to send them for the privilege of shooting their wedding(s). :D

My name is Barr,Kris Mark,further to our wedding preparations between i and my fiance Melisa in GLASGOW,(SCOTLAND) in the month of OCTOBER.We are looking for a good photographer who will come and snapshot our proposed event. We were highly impressed on your web page and we hope to have the best of your services.At this time,we are leaving for Cardiff

on a per wedding honeymoon.
We would require to have the list of your available dates between 30th-31th of October 2009.Let me know your charges for your services if you are to work for at most Six Hours on that day. we require the below.

:250 copies of photographs
:All colored
:5 x 7 in size
:Albums required

The 200 copies covers the bride and the bridegroom, their parents,the officiating ministers and our guests.If you can out,we will pay the transportation charges to and from the party venue.Please indicate in your email if you can out,what it will costs either via Plane or through Car transport to GLASGOW,(SCOTLAND) and what amount you will

receive working for the budgeted hours at the occasion.

More so,should you be out of state,the Hotel accommodation will be

provided for by us.

I wonder if Jame Smith and Barr.Kris Mark know they are both marrying the same woman.
How many dates are there between 30th and 31st of October? I would like to know as my birthday is the 31st and I'd hate it if it was delayed or I missed it.:thinking:

Hmmm....the grammar is very poor and it would appear that in both cases English isn't the author's first language....

Obviously this is a scam of some description, but for the life of me, I can't work out how.
 
Surely if you time it right you could do one on the 30th and the other on the 31st Charge them £15,000 (cash of course) for each wedding and wait for the cash and offers from their friends to roll in :lol: :lol:

I do like the idea of the "per wedding" honeymoon though, thats really original :D

Could be worth spinning them along to see how far you can take it? It can be very entertaining scamming the scammers!

Thing is, I have no wedding info on my sight and I certainly don't do videography. I'm certainly not experienced, I'v only done one wedding in the east end of London. so no-t een in "my area". :shrug:

This is either an advanced fee fraud scam, or, worsely, it could be a kidnap plot (yes, I know it sounds rediculous, but it can (and has) happen.

Interesting that the scammers are changing their tactics and targetting those with websites, not just randomly targetting email accounts.

Also, you should never "scam a scammer" if they know your real details. Especially so if they've sent you a message via a website, as it's quite likely they'll have your address. Yes, most of them are abroad, but some do have links to the UK, or are in the UK. Not worth the risk. They are still criminals, after all.
 
For what it's worth, it looks like this is an attempted FRAUD...

I thought I'd also report it here as it seems these people are at it...!!

Yes its a scam for sure. At a different level and albeit a more reputable source I [and others keep getting calls from BT] They phone up and say something like 'we are looking for 4 electricians in Norwich, at least a rewire every wek plus other work'..... The catch? You actually have to pay them as its for advertising!! Its a real scam in my view and very poor fro the reputation of BT. I suspect
 
Tell them you only accept payment by western union.

More than likely they write you a 'business cheque. Over the amount, you cash and send the difference back to them.

I have been looking into this a little further. Firstly be aware of 070 numbers this one starts in 0701. These numbers can link into extremely high cost telephone systems casting the caller sometimes £1000's per minute but appear to be a mobile phone number. Borrow your neighbours phone if you are calling this (Just kidding!) Don’t Call it!!!! Secondly looking at Google maps 80 Hope Street, Glasgow G2 2UE don’t look like much of a wedding venue to me! My advice to all is if you have suspicions of a scam, it probably is. You will turn up to a venue fully loaded with thousands of pounds of equipment only to be greeted by a load of hairy arse eastern European gangsters who will take your belongings for quick sale on eBay and come out of it minus a few layers of skin , a few bruises but hopefully alive.

Least to say I have not replied to this email and have no intention of doing so.

Its a lesson that the world is turning into a scary place and all of us need to be cautious.
