Would you spend a year in space?

No way! I would love to spend a day or two up there but after that, it would get boring! Great views, yes but a decent selection of photographs would allow you to see them on your return in the comfort of your own home. I like fresh air and (to some extent!) exercise too much. Not being able to get out for a walk would drive me nuts (and did when I was on strict bed rest for a couple of weeks).

Oh a space walk or two would cure some of those concerns!

Not the change of scenery one!

Nope. Wouldn't even want to go there for a few hours!

I would for a few weeks as it must be an amazing experience but not a year think I would go LA LA:D

I would love to. The isolation Wouldn't bother me at all.

Seriously? It would be awe inspiring!

nobodys doubting that, but after a few weeks you'd get used to the view.

I lived in canada for a year and outside my living room was the canadian rockies. It was awesome for a few weeks, then I barely noticed it.

Oh U dunno Joe. In January I will have been here 4 years. Everyday I walk along a 7km beach, with a range of mountains in the background and I still marvel at the beauty of it all.

Hhmmm, Now me, I lived in California, also for a year, and the Western Sierras were outide my door and I never once got used to that. The sheer scale of that view made me bawl over my coffee at least once a week
Isolation would be no issue for me.

well, the two of you are obviously just much more easily impressd and simple folk, you can't help that, it's cute. :D:D

Hehehe, You may be right Joe. Perhaps when the big ol' stick has been removed from your butt, you'll understand   :exit:

Excellent point! OK, cancelling surgical stick removal

Dara O'Briains science show last night was about space, one guest was (I think) a Russian cosmonaut who said the one thing everybody hates about being up there is the stink. Human bodily odours etc. have nowhere to go. When the occupants of the space station get a delivery especially of food everyone gathers around the container to get a whiff of the fresh air when it's opened.

I saw that too and you can't open a window, senor Daforce can't handle the pong from his wife's dog.

Now now Crofter, if you're going to write Spanish words, at least spell them correctly.

It's hard enough getting a é let alone finding an n with the wiggly line over it (as a keyboard shortcut rather than a special character set) using a standard UK keyboard!
