Today's the day. Tens of thousands of people have flocked to Buñol and are throwing squashed tomatoes at each other.
I always thought it looked great fun!
Would you give it a try?
 
Would rather photograph it from a safe distance via a long lens... but yes It would be good for a laugh!
 
No but only because tomato juice stings like hell when (not if in that situation!) it gets in my eyes! Could be tempted to shoot it though - the 1AW would lap it up and I coud wear goggles without looking too much like a wuss!!!

I would do this... It seems like fun and i guess i can swap out mud for tomatoes as i quite like Obstacle course racing.. will have to get this booked as a holiday for next year!
 
I wouldn't travel there specifically to do it, but if I was nearby I'd definitely go and get involved.
I bet you can still get quite bruised by a flying tomato though!

They are squashed up, more pulp than whole.

When I lived in Belgium, in March of every year, the village would chuck oranges at each other and it was fun, apparently, to belt the brits. As we were the only British family there, I can tell you that they fecking hurt!
Strange lot, these Europeans although I suppose its better than lobbing glasses at each other on a Saturday night.

After having been a tomato greenhouse farmer for nearly 20 years before the firm folded up four years ago, this would be my worst nightmare. I can't even walk past the tomato counter at the local Sainsbury's without breaking out in a cold sweat and gibbering profusely. Heck, I never even liked tomatoes before I took on the job, now I have a pathological hatred for them.

And on this note, I am out.
