Would You Let a Gay Man Teach Your Children Performing Arts?

Well this woman wouldn't. On learning that the teacher is gay, she withdrew her children from the lessons. His response was great in my opinion.

So, what about you? Do you share the mother's views?

Performing arts and a gay man, what a surprise/shock who on Earth would have thought that could be a possibility. Now, if I am not mistaken I don't recall a case where a gay man had actually been accused of being a paedophile.

Teacher's response was excellent.
 
I most certainly do not but if that's her opinion, then she's entitled to it.
Pity the poor kids having to realise their mum's not the wisest.

It doesn't say. For all we know she could have told many people.
 
She could also be advising other people to not enrol their children in this man's classes, which would not only cost him part of his livelihood, but given her reason is also illegal.

If homosexuality is against her religious beliefs she is entitled to withdraw her children if she so wishes. If people don't like the idea of homosexuality, others should respect that. She's not gone out queer bashing, she has just explained her reasons and expressed her desire to withdraw her children from his class. Whether he or other disagree with her beliefs, they should be respected.
 
So in the name of equality/diversity/inclusivity/tolerance (towards the teacher) we're criticising a woman for expressing a personal opinion?
I didn't think her message was particularly rude (the deposit thing is a red herring as it's not uncommon to get it back if you haven't attended), whereas I thought that his response was a bit patronising (with spurious biblical interpretation) and donating the company funds to an LGBT is a bold move and could risk alienating other clients.

She could have withdrawn the children citing no reasons and offended no one.
 
In my youth our school had the contract to supply child actor parts for the Royal opera house ,Covent garden ,I was in a couple of operas and I do remember that we had to have chaperones at all times just in case ,this was back in the 60's .so then as now you can't be to carefully with children

She hasn't offended anyone. If anyone finds her message or reasons offensive, they seriously need to get a life. It's her religious belief. That's it.

Of course and there are all kinds of rules and regs with kids but this is just about him being gay not a threat to them

Unless she's stupid, which given the religion is possible, she would know her reasons may offend.
The problem is that people think they can play the religion card and say whatever they like in it's name.
