Would this PC spec cut the mustard for photo processing

Seen a PC with the following spec, localish to me on a well known auction site.

• Processor - Intel Core i7-3820 Quad Core 3.6GHz with 10MB Cache (with Corsair H60 Hydro Series CPU Cooler)
• Memory - 8GB Kingston Dual-DDR3 @ 1600MHz (2x 4GB)
• Graphics Card - 2GB nVidia GEFORCE GTX 660
• HDD - 1TB Western Digital - SATA 6GB/s @ 7200rpm
• Optical Disk Drive - 10x Blu-Ray / 16x DVD-RW
• Motherboard - ASUS P9X79 PRO
• PSU - Corsair 650W Enthusiast Series TX650
• Sound Card - Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio
• Networking - LAN & Wireless 802.11N 300Mbps Card
• USB - 6x USB 2.0 - 2x Front Panel & 4x Rear
• Case - Coolermaster Elite 311 (with extra Case Fan)
• Operating System - Windows 7 installed
• Monitor - Iiyama E2473HS 24" LED Widescreen @ 1920x1080 resolution

Bids start at £600 is it

a) worth the money and

b) future proof to last me the next 5 years for photo processing with Lightroom / Photoshop.

Processor - yup, nice.
Memory - OK for LR, might struggle with PS if you do a lot of complex edits
Graphics card - overkill for a photo workstation.
HDD - would prefer an SSD for boot drive
PSU - reasonable and far better than budget ones.
Soundcard - extra expense not useful for photo
Monitor - not an IPS monitor. Would prefer one for editing.

Will it go for more than £600?

Agree with Andy regarding memory, I have a similar MB (Sabretooth X79) with 16GB memory, and if you have a number of images you are working on in PS most of the memory is used up.

You didn't mention USB3 (the MB has 4 Rear USB3 ports), so if you haven't considered a USB3 Card reader it's worth doing so.

Also agree with Andy regarding a SSD drive for a boot drive, makes things roll along that little bit zippier.

Cheers folks. I guessed the machine would benefit from having 16gb memory on board for use and fitting a SSD would also be an option if I follow it up.
