Growing (I think) in the forest opposite our house Norht coast of Scotland. Its the grey stuff I mean.

Almost like ash - burnt paper.

But not.

Ideas??

Looks like a type of Lichen to me.

Looks like some sort of basidiomycete fungus to me, god knows which one though - fungi are really weird things, some of the fruiting bodies you see can actually be made up of multiple species.
