worst nightmare at a wedding?

Not had any myself as I am not in the game, however I remember reading an article years ago in a photograhy mag. This wedding tog had done a shoot for a client, and to cut a long story short the films had got lost in transport :( he called the clients to his place a couple of weeks later and asked them to sit down and offered them a whisky:whistling: If i remember correctly they arranged to do the whole shoot again which involved calling family members back from all four corners of the globe  i honestly cannot remember though if he stumped up the cost or he claimed on an insurance he had, but after that inccident he gave up doing weddings.

Just to keep you all posted, I still haven't heard back from him! It's been 2 weeks since he sent the last email so I'm going to chase him now...

just joined this site last night....
I am a L.B.I.P.P. wedding photographer working for myself and a few respected photographers who have done talks for the BIPP on wedding photography....
and reading this section scares me to death!!!!!

Why does it scare you to death?

well nothing bad has happened to me in 20 years I just figure
it has to happen soon ....ha ha:lol:

I had a problem some years ago. This was during "film" days which I used a Bronica SQA. Halfway through the wedding the shutter iris broke (on bronny's its in the lens). The camera appeared to work as normal so unaware of this I continued. It was only when the films came back I discovered the problem. In this case I was fortunate that the B&G were portrait customers and accepted that I was unaware of the problem. I could have claimed on my insurance but instead asked the B&G to ask around for any shot guests had taken. Fortunately there were a few and and managed to cobble an album together for her. I also refunded her fee (less the deposit) and she was more than happy to accept.

I'm thinking if it might be worth just telling them to forget the albums and photos etc and just give me a full refund and a the CD of all high res images and I can get my own made.

Or is the package price a good deal for the main album and 2 smaller ones?

£1800

if it was me i would say that im photographer so i know how much albums and prints cost and to me its not fair that the ceremony has been missed and its the only part of the wedding that is "real" (couldnt describe it), especially as you ensured i would not have my wedding missed especially with two photographers coming.

no real disasters.
only real cock up was by a soon to be, mother in law.
she organised the wedding shoot in a local park, about two mins drive from the venue and organised transport for the entire wedding party.
we'd checked out the park and decided there would be no problem.
sadly the mother in law forgot to check if there was anything going on at the park for the wedding weeknd.
we turned up to the wedding, to find there was a carnival on at the park, and nowhere at the venue to shoot the group shots.
some moments of panic, and another green spot was located.
oh, and the mother in law had cocked up the transport too, so 15 car loads of people proceeded to the alternative, and all went well.

the venue was so awfull to shoot in, weve since refused weddings booked there.
what a dump.

but B&G were happy with the results , so all is well.

Any update on your chaser? This has been going on for a long time, must be very stressful :shake:

Any reply yet? Still wondering how this turned out? Hopefully a more positive one than the one first offered.

i would guess loss of material between the shoot and the final article
in film days it would be total exposure of the film
some shots cant be set up again

stay calm
