Well. Today while driving home from a brass band contest the linkage on my wipers failed, leaving me with only the driver side working. And as if that wasn't enough, I hit a flood on the way to a friend's 40th and killed my car. I ended up being towed home by a lovely chap with no ABS, no powersteering, and no experience being towed. All hope is now pinned on my car drying out and behaving itself...I hope.

Not a happy bunny. Still have ALL my xmas shopping to do, as well as our normal monthly shop. Thank **** for the internet and home delivery.

I'm now working my way to the bottom of a bottle of Martell...the only cognac our local shop had, and the only shop within walking distance.

Sorry to hear that.

On the bright side, at least you met one of life's nice folk :)

Dare I ask how the competition went?

Second out of 25 odd, not bad at all really, considering we're 3rd section and we were up against all sections, 4th right up to championship. Was really chuffed, especially after the same result at the south west brass band association contest at Torquay a couple of weeks ago.

I'm nicely chilled out now, the car is something to worry about another day. I'm high on Martell right now

Takes me back about 35 years driving back to the Midlands from Brighton in a Morris 1300 with similarly 1 wiper and a need to drink a pint of oil about every 50 miles, somehow we made it

But the good news is your local shop was open!

Sorry to hear of your woes hope you get yourself sorted soon enough!

My god is it "Kill a car month" sorry to hear about your car woes

We've got home with broken wiper blades before now, by passing some string through the drivers and passengers windows, linked to the wiper arms, then tugging this way and that.
Needs must and grateful to get home. :)
