Worrying time for bempton cliffs

The oil tanker disaster off of hull today 10/03/25 could have worrying repercussions for bempton cliffs nature reserve , anyone who’s been a visitor over the years will know that the gannets fly off in the direction of the Humber estuary daily and return later . .if the spill is not contained it could have a devastating effect on the fishing grounds , we don’t need another disaster after the bird flu outbreak. Fingers crossed but it doesn’t look good

Early days yet, it seems to be aviation fuel not typical 'oil' which will very readily disperse and it's unclear how much has leaked at this stage.
A very stupid thing to have happened. Since it seems to be a US ship I'm wondering if it wasn't actually an accident.

Unless being a military ship it had its I.d beacon turned off .. unlikely but a possibility

Probably an act of war against an American ship carrying jet fuel.
