well here it is, 4 weeks of fun fun fun

apart from England, whos going to win??

Am I the only one who is not in the least bit interested, not just because I'm Scottish, I just do not have any interest in football whatsoever. At least the golf course will be quiet when Engerland are playing. :)

Obviously, as a patriot, I wish them the best of luck.

F1 is another that i used to post about and no-one else gave a crap about, lol

I'd actually like to see England do well but not to the point of winning it. The smugness and hypocrisy of your pundits, and Alan Hansen (yes, him of "we English") gets right up my nose.

So best of luck, hope you get to the final, and then get tanked :D

i shall be watching both the footie and the F1 all weekend. mrs will not be pleased :D

i got a shed to put up, so im getting up early i think, or going to bed late...

World cup shed, aye.

We all know where Matty's living for the next few weeks.

I'm sick of hearing about the World Cup - and especially Wayne Rooney. So much so, I punched a cardboard cutout of him in Asda yesterday.

His alleged foot injury was all just part of Sven's hype machine. There was never anything wrong with him.

You're not the only one mate - when we had football at school, I was the one with a note from me mom. :rules:

I'd just like to see some of this flag waving and patriotic fervour remaining when it's all over and we've been knocked out by Papua New Guinea. :coat:

I hope they win of course... just not my game at all.

I cant stand football myself, the competition hasn't even started yet and im sick to the back teeth of it. Im joining hacker on the golf course, well I would if I hadn't got broken fingers and a bust wrist:bang:

I'm like CT. Never liked football, never liked PE much though (the sport, not the member :p)..I was always 'with note' at school too :D

RE: Football. I may occasionally get caught up in the hype and watch some England games during the World Cup / Euro Cup, but that's it. My wife's a big Man City fan, always liked football, so while she's down the pub of a Sunday afternoon, I'm likely to be the one at home cooking the roast :D

:) got this the other day in email...

Dedicated to ever person who is proud to be scottish that will have to endure the constant banging on about 1966!!!

Its not england the nation i dislike.or its people, its the constant "hype" that is generated during the world cup it amazes me how the english nation and in particular its media need a sporting event to get them to show some pride in there nation!

I have to say, the hype is incredibly irritating.

For the first time in a very long while I will be looking forward to this world cup and to england doing the best they can. Normally I'm not fussed with football since I fractured may back when I was at school and stopped playing footie. Also my dads Scottish and I was actually christened in Scotland so I'm patriotic to both england and Scotland. So come on england and for once do us proud and WIN!!!!!!

Being a Birmingham City supporter for 44 years and season ticket holder for about at 15 of those, I thought i liked football, obviously i dont as i havent seen them doing anything impressive in that time.

This is the first world cup that i cant be bothered in, every advert you see be it for dog food, loo cleaners, tampax has a football slant to it, i'm so pi'*/ed off with it all.

No doubt if they progress, i will take an interest and if they were to win i will have been their loyalist supporter.

Mike

I've stocked up my fridge with Beer.

Kids are moaning as they cant fit anything in there now :D

Commercialism is rampant I tell you! bring back the good old days when footballers were real men that played for the love of the game not money and didn't burst into tears when their hair got mussed up!, when the footballs were made of lead and could break a shin clean in two if kicked the wrong way, when shorts and not hair came down to the knee. When matches were only played in two inches of mud instead of being called off if the forcast in timbucktoo looked iffy.....etc...rant...etc..

I like all good Scotsmen will support any team that plays well (against england :) ) ( yeah ok I stole that! )

I can't stand football, I've had enough of it and all the silly little flags already. I'm very fortunate to have a boyfriend who feels the same way :) At least Tesco's will be quiet later :D

Football used to be a sport. Now it's more about money and fashion. I totally agree with Steep :)
