Well done, glad it's working out for you.Nearly a year since I posted in here. A call from an Agency down south had me covering the friendly match between Kilmarnock and Barrow AFC on Friday. It took me right back to the start of this thread as it was the first time in a couple of years I have had to tag images before sending them. I remembered how flustered I used to get and how difficult it was getting decent images, deciding what and when to send and then all those little things that go wrong and can really set you back. Despite Barrow getting pumped 5-0 I managed to submit a decent set of images that were all tagged albeit a couple of mistakes that I noticed and resubmitted with comms to agency. Agency and me happy with teh job done and another client who I could potentially work for again.
In the last year I have picked up 3 or 4 fairly regular clients which has really helped keep the money coming in. I continue to do a couple of jobs for the Agency described earlier in the thread which is all I really want. I have now also started getting jobs at the marathon events covering proceedings rather than shooting the bulk shots for competitors, I'm still doing that too as it is regular income. I've done a couple of dog agility shows in the last week which went very well with 1500 quid in sales for the two days and I have had similar success with the big youth rugby events the SRU host. I now have all the kit I could have dreamed off and the next stage of the plan, which does scare me, is to reduce my hours at work and use my photography earnings as income rather than building teh kit for teh business. I will be trying to add commercial and event photography to bolster income and hope to do this next year.
Lastly I continue to do work for the Hibernian Community Foundation and that has been great fun and I have also raised a few quid for them with image sales. It isn't all about money and they have treated me really well with some lovely gifts but more importantly I have met some brilliant people and feel part of a group who are doing amazing things in teh Community and my content has really helped display that.
