would like to know where and how i could find my self as an assistant to a wedding photographer in London. If any one can point me in the right direction I would be most grateful.

i just married the photographer.
we do actualy receive cv,s in the post from would be assistants/work experience hopefulls. if they send an SAE we reply with a "thankyou , but we cant help at the moment". if not , they go straight in the bin.
down in that there fancy london , sending cv,s etc and such with a covering letter and SAE might prove worthwhile. they is loads of um down there.as DEEP says , google /yellow pages/adverts may produce the contacts. good luck.
