I need some help/recommendations about my workflow peeps.

In short, it sucks!

I import the RAW files from my card using elements 6, then edit and convert one by one using CS2. (I prefer the interface to the image editor in elements).

I am edit and convert to jpeg one at a time and it take forever! I mainly use the basic adjustment tools in CS2, sometime delve a bit deeper but not much.

The result is at the moment I find the PP side tedious and boring, and I think thats one of the main reasons I don't post as many images as I'd like too.

How can I improve the process and make it faster, easier and get back to enjoying sorting images again!?

Hi Rob, when shootin a wedding I can easily shoot 1100 pics so there is no way I can be doing each one individually so here's what I do (And I know it's not the best!)

I review the whole lot in Adobe Bridge and tag the ones I want to keep. The tagged ones I then transfer to a separate folder. Takes about 30 mins. Then I batch process the tagged ones depending on where I shot them. i.e. all the speeches I can batch and adjust WB and exposure on the first image and Bridge will do the rest as a batch. Cup of coffee time. Once they are all processed I'll then pick out any I think are worth spending some time individally working on and spend 5 mins on each of those. Total time probably 3-4 hours.

Cheers Ali!

Its batch processing that I could do with, for sure. Thanks for your info there. Id bridge free or does it cost? I may have it, I don't know lol!!!
I'm a dunce when it comes to PP, and at the moment its taking all the fun out of it for me. It seems like such a chore.

I got mine with CS3?

have a look at the Adobe site, should be able to find out there.

Glad to help :)

From memory you should have bridge with CS2. It should have been loaded when you installed Photoshop. It should show in the Programmes section either under Adobe or under Adobe Bridge.

Can't be more specific as I moved to a Mac and don't have Photoshop on the old PC anymore
