Hello

Not sure If I've posted this in the right section of the forum, so apologies if not.

I am after some advice on work experience, in my 2nd year of university, and although I am studying graphic design, I've been specialising in photography pretty much the whole course thanks to an independent unit that was introduced at the start of year 1.

Before our easter break in April we are to look for 2 weeks work experience within our chosen direction. When it comes to photography I am more directed towards Music, Portraiture and Fashion. I've sat looking around on the internet trying to find suitable places to email, but I feel like I'm hitting a dead end or maybe just not looking in the right places.

Any advice would appreciated :)

J

Hi Justine, not sure I can answer your question, but would like to say you have some excellent shots on your web site  .....

I hope you find someone here to give you the advice you;re after. I apologise I can't be of any help. Like Steve above, I looked at your website and I think you are on the right track and will go far. I wish I was young again and into photography with the passion I have for it now, but apart being ......i won't bore you......

You will go far for sure, keep at it, you have talent and so much more to come.

Have a happy career.

The other way to look at it would be to go work for the client not the producer, a week spent work exing with the art director of any major mag in the areas you are looking at would give you a wealth of information and experience , just a thought.....

That's a very good suggestion. It could provide handy contacts for the future.

Repost this request in Talk Business, but flesh it out a bit more as a job application.

There are a few full time photographers on here in exactly the market that you are looking at; whether they can help you or not is a completely different matter, and might depend on how you word your plea!! ;)
